I took mine off when I replaced it with my Budbuilt skids. I don't remember anything difficult, just have some extensions to get the top mounting points iirc. If you're replacing it and you're worried about rust, get some Kroil and soak those...
I am going to replace the Fuel Tank Protector Sub Assembly (tank skid) on my 2015 200. Just the metal skid. Anyone have a PDF of the instructions or know if there is anything tricky that would make this a multi-hour ordeal? Or is it as simple...
Around here the recyclers no longer accept (or even can accept) catalytic converters for recycling for cash. The value has dropped to zero and the thefts have ended. They still get recycled by licensed shops which is where the legitimate...
My much-abused 200 is a lot quieter than my friends new GX550 and vastly quieter than the new 250 i spent time in. My 200 has zero rattles or wind noise, although an occasional leather squeak from the 2nd row split seat rubbing together on...
Volvo used to do grille badges for major increments. There were people with badges up to a million miles. Great marketing and data collection about longevity for very little cost on their part!
Yakima Rocketbox and Yakima Skybox 21. Both work great.
Both Yakima and Thule have a roof box compatibility chart on their website to tell you if the box blocks the lift gate.
These things love to come off. I was missing both of the middle rubber pieces when I bought my LC. It was about $150 to replace both sides.
I’d also note that these rubber pieces don’t really do anything, they just keep leaves and other debris...
Surface rust on the welds. I'm guessing if you look at the hitch receiver and the spare tire pulley mechanism you'll find more. Those fuel tank skids like to rust around the vents as well but that can be replaced with something better + aluminum...
Unless it’s just a normal Lanolin product that has picked up some dust. Looks like the underside of my 200 and I have zero rust under years of Fluid Film.
If it is a rubberized or paint like coating, like the famous Z, then all bets are off and...
With the exception of the fuel tank, there don't appear to be any of the underbody protective panels installed. Maybe the previous owner had aftermarket skid plates installed, removed them, and did not re-install the OEM plates.

My guess is they were running 34 or 35” tires and swapped back to a stock size when selling/trading in. I made the same little cut when I had 34s and +25 offset wheels
