I know John does not want me to post this, but I hope when I’m 82 years old I’m out there tipping over land cruiser and having fun. Absolute legend.

The weather here has been way hot and humid to be comfortable out so I had not kept up with things BUT… the last 2 days have been quite amazing with very low humidity. I took the 40 out to run a few errands pick up some gas and do some grocery...

Nothing exciting, but the old girl is always wanting to get out so I picked the hottest day of the week to run her to work.

Spent a week at the beach with the family and brought the 40, many special memories made - especially a few fishing trips with my daughter!

Between Chris's awesome article and perhaps the best article ever with Cruiserdan, this edition has to be the best Trails publication ever put out.

Got my printed version. Considering keeping it wrapped for posterity!

I overlooked this place. Did the loop in cades cove when my nephew visited a few weeks ago. No top + windshield down. Saw some bear cubs playing and tons of deer.

The trip ended up being about 3800 miles all together over 17 days and we were averaging a hand calculated 14mpg across the trip. Gas on average was about $3.50/gal so yes about $1K in gas is correct. Cant put a price tag on a good old...

Went to the Tatacoa Desert 🏜️ 🌵. We drove way back inside the desert until we saw no other cars or people. Such a surreal experience. We found an interesting Ecohotel and spent two nights watching the stars at night and exploring the landscapes...

Holcomb Valley is burning, the Gold Fire, is currently at 30 acres. Reports have it located near 3n10, John Bull trail.

Replacement power steering heat shields are hard to find. I was able to find a non-power steering shield and bent the brackets to fit. I've seen some cool "one-off" fabricated shields. I thought about doing that, but this was quick and easy. I...

Got the passenger side fender tacked together, it still needs a little tweaking and I am going to add another cross piece. Hopefully the other side goes much smoother!

I got my BJ42 ~”ready” (doors, sides and roof still to do). It took 7 years.
