Our October Long Distance Club Run will be to Oceano Dunes SVRA from the 16th through the 19th. We will set up a base camp and take runs through the dunes throughout the weekend. If you have never camped right on the sand or taken your truck out on the dunes, this would be a great run to attend. Some members will camp on the beach and others will be in RV parks or hotels. There is a strict limit on beach camping, and a space must be reserved through: reservecalifornia.com. Spaces can go fast, so if you are planning to camp it is best to reserve your campsite now. Our campsite will likely be the furthest down the beach that we can drive (near Post 6 if accessible).

Please reply here or PM me so we have an idea of how many are planning to attend and if you are camping.

Hope to see you there!

Out...same weekend as my MS 100 mile bike ride...again☹️. Anyone else that wants to sponsor me hit me up with a PM and I'll send you a link to donate.
😁

I'll be attending the event. Driving up to Pismo on 10/18 and staying on the beach for the night.

We will be there…staying at the RV campground in town and driving on the dunes to meet the club.

I blew the bushings on the control arms and will miss out on this. Again.
Consolation prize is I’m driving a loaner Lincoln Navigator that will not engage 4Lo. LoLoLoLoL! 🤣

Weather is looking good! I plan to get there probably late Thursday morning and will post the camp location. If anyone wants my cell number please send me a PM. We will likely be using ham frequency 146.535 if we are not at camp. For those camping, please bring some firewood...

Arrived, beach is open to post 6. At a spot just north of a big group of trailers.

We had less attendance this year than in the past but always a great time and perfect weather until the fog rolled in Saturday evening. We even had a prototype Kia pick-up truck join us on Friday for thermal testing in the dunes. The truck was ran on full street tire pressure in "sand mode" and it made it around the entire perimeter of the dunes without getting stuck. The driver did not lower the tire pressure because he wanted to test it like he was the dumbest customer to try driving the truck in sand. Link to more photos: Oceano Dunes

A few more pics... We stopped to check on a girl that crashed a quad and they said she was fine and did not need our help (she was holding her arm and looked shaken up). About 20 minutes later she was being flown out by helicopter...
