I had mine controlled by the ECM so it was cycling based on engine temps, probably similar to the Sniper setup. The fan is pulling nearly 23 amps (at least mine was) running all out. With a variable controller like the AutoCool, you get a “soft...
That’s the exact same radiator and fan I installed for the 6.0 LS, it’s kept it cool. Hopefully your filler neck is straight, mine was so crooked I had to cut it off and re-weld it.
The fan is great but it sounds like a small plane taking off...
Engine compartment coming together.
Battery, air compressor have a space, need to find room for overflow and washer bottle.
This intercooler’s been a bear to get in there, there’s a quarter inch between the fan and the hood.
I built the steering...
No they are 90. Apparently Sanderson headers knows about this . They make the header a little different for my heads since they have raised ports . Unfortunately I didn’t know about this . And even on the Summit web page says works with...
Ok, might be a long term solution 🤷♂️
Any chance that the boots off the spark plugs are straight instead of 90°?
If so, you “might” be able to use a factory LS spark plug heat shield. They are just a hollow tube of thin metal and will be in...
Have you tried ceramic wires? I used to burn #8 on my old Vortec with the AA block hugger headers. Bought a set of ceramic high temp (expensive) and never had another problem. And the ceramic boots were actually touching the headers a bit. I’m...
With the spring (coilover) that far inboard, it's not going to be able to control the wheel very well. You're going to get excess articulation movement that the coilover won't be able to do anything about, and you'll have to run a much stiffer...
That was my thinking too. It’s free off the brakes but impossible to turn with pressure on it. Could be getting old too, it’s been on there a long time, might be time to swap it out
Hydraulic parking brake shouldn't be an issue with higher line pressure, because it's not changing the pressure, just rotating the ball valve inside it (in my mind anyway). Is it free when you're off the brakes?
Update: the brakes are FANTASTIC. Best brakes I’ve ever had on the 40 in 25 years. Need to bed the Wilwood pads in a bit more then just run them.
There is most certainly much higher line pressures. I have a mechanical in-line hydraulic parking...
Thx, that’s great info. I’ll remove the filter on my low pressure return line, it’s likely a restriction. And probably go back to a factory pulley. I’ll call PSC next week, get the pump set back and see what they say. I also want to make sure the...
I have burned up many pumps with stock pulleys in my race car. you have to lower the rpms to keep them from burning up. They do not like anything over 6k, the other thing is to make sure you have plenty of fluid and a good return. I pulled the...
I’ve been running Currie joints 14+ years. Probably 20,000 miles at least. Hard off-road and lots of highway time. I’ve only needed to rebuild ONE. They are solid and make zero noise, I just keep them greased
First frame sections cut and prepped... now to start cutting! This will continue in my Lynchburg Lemonade thread in the 40 section. I think I am going to gut the drivetrain out of this one for the blue one. I have a 5.3-6l80 that can go in this.
I frankly don’t know WHAT is going on with the steering pumps lately. I ran a PSC for 13 years before it wore out. This one lasted 1/2 a day. Stock one lasted 1/2 a day 6 months ago
I’ll send this one back to PSC. I have to wonder if the PSC...
This thing sounds mean! Sorry to hear about the pump. Hopefully it’s the last one that you have to replace in this. Looks like fun. I can’t wait to get mine out.
