If the 68 is like my 72, there’s a nut that’s welded to a heavier-gauge reinforcing plate that is spot welded to the underside of the floor panel. When I repaired that section of my tub, I more or less reproduced the stock setup:

Two things added/done this morning: Gamiviti dash accessory mount installed. I had been looking for a way to mount my phone on my dash, because my 20-year-old GPS that is mounted up next to the rear-view mirror is slowly sh!tting the bed...

Webers don't need a return line. You may have to run a regulator though as they are finicky about pressure. When they are dialed in, they are great but they take some time and each vehicle is different. That's my experience with them, anyway.

FWIW, I ordered a pair of rear wheel cylinders from cruiserteq on Monday afternoon and received them Wednesday afternoon in OH. Price was fair for Japanese made products and shipping was fast. Pretty much a no brainer.

I realize that many here are making a living off of the increased value of these old vehicles. I don't want to see their livelihoods affected but... I "think" I'll be really happy when nobody wants them and I can stop worrying about where I park...

@EWheeler … I agree. I watch almost every Land Cruiser auction and local sales on the US internet while attempting to control the costs of what I spend on mine.. I think mine is a cut above many in cosmetics and mechanical. Of course...

I disagree, educated buyers prefer the mechanically dialed in original 40 over the shiny South American turds or domestic restorations with zero documentation. The mostly original well sorted 40 will hold it's value while the turds will come...

4Plus tire carrier is probably the upgrade that has made the most difference in my 40. Incredible build quality and easy install.

Installed on my 64 and 65. Super stout doesn't rattle well built. Dave is great to work with and takes pride in everything he makes.
