Better yet, sign up for the Southern Cruiser Crawl. Guaranteed good time. Weekend of October 10th. There will be plenty of wagon runs and people not looking to destroy their trucks. If you are looking for destruction, there are opportunities for that, too.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, i've heard a lot of good stuff about the Superlift park.

Unfortunately, I'm not looking for destruction yet haha. I'm in the process of tearing out all the nasty carpet now and replacing it with new carpet. Let's just say this thing had been sunk a time or two haha.

Trying to find someone to trade the 38s for some 35/36s right now as well.

I think I know why the carpet is that way. I feel like I've seen that truck buried up to the doors in what I call 'the pit o' despair'
 
Yep, I saw that rig a few weeks ago on a lot. What a beast! Congratulations. Bring it to the 'Crawl!

Are those Super Swampers bias- ply or radial?

Hahaha doesn't surprise me one bit. It definitely needs some work, but got it for a pretty good deal I thought. He was asking $4300 and ended up taking it home for $2800.

The 38s are Bias ply...currently looking for some 35/36 radials to trade them for if anyone knows of some. :D
 
Also I have all new TRE that are sitting at home waiting for me today that I ordered from Cruiser Corps. Has anyone done the TREs on their 60 series and care to share any tips or help out for some beer?
 
This one has the same bumper (thought its completely submerged) and had the old school bias on it.

Those are some of the lovely National Forest Roads in the Ozark NF. Many, many miles ranging from gravel to nice little trails.

Some other random facts about those pics... After a couple of assisted reverse tugs from the 100 series in the shots. Those Swampers manged to pull the open/open beast through that pit... Also, the battery should be fairly new as it was replaced the following day along with the(also fairly new) alternator being disassembled and cleaned in the auto part store parking lot...
 
Hahaha I love the stories. I have noticed the new alt and battery so that's a plus.

I just finished installing the new carpet a couple days ago(looks 10x better) and traded the 38" swampers for some 36" TSLs this past weekend, but they still seem really big haha. I'll post up some pics later today

I have some questions for y'all, my front end save a whole bunch and it has the OME Dakar CS0003 springs, which I think are the light springs? I was thinking about throwing either a short or long AAL in there to lift it up some, any suggestions to which one would be better?

Also I'm planning in changing out the tie rods today and tomorrow after work. Can I leave the truck sitting like it is and change the TREs or do I need to lift up the front so the axle is at full droop? Any other tips would be appreciated
 
Long AAL will ride better. The short ones ride like a dump truck.

You can do TRE's as it sits, though it's a bit easier on stands with the tires off. No need in letting the axle droop.
 
Also, start spraying PB Blaster or similar on all the parts now.

Smacking the steering arm on the outside where the TRE goes in works really well for popping them loose. Don't hammer too hard on the TRE itself. A pickle fork works good here, too, since you don't care about the rubber boots.

Be sure to use lots of antiseize when you put it all back together and it will come apart easier next time. ;)
 
Awesome thanks guys. I saw a there's a thread in setting your own alignment, but haven't read through it yet. Is it doable and work ok? My alignment is wayyy off right now so it may be a lost cause trying to do it myself. It pulls to the left pretty bad when you let go of the steering wheel.
 
I have a set of AAL's for a 40 if that will work... Bought them new from man a fre never used them
