Blacked out hood (2 Viewers)

Hello Mudmates,

I was going to have a good friend that has a body shop paint my hood (center raised section) flat black. This looks cool and eliminates glare from the sun. I found an alternate solution....

I contacted Isotel and he will start working on one for our 100 series in a week or so after he finishes another project.

I told him i would put up a post to guage interest. I am in for sure. Anyone else like the idea?

i've always liked the black hoods... i'm pretty sure someone was already making these for 100 series in vinyl... i will post the link if i can remember where i found them...

I was going to do a CF hood...but not sure if that would be way too "rice" rocket like. The matte black hood is definitely a good idea

There are two different hoods, one for the Land Cruiser and one for the LX470. TLC Dan has a LX, and I may have some time to swing down to CS in a week, or this coming weekend and let you measure mine up

an idea for the LC

I think the LX one should go from the top grille corners all the way up to the a-pillar.

I'll see if I can find a good shot to demon-straight.

The flat hood makes a big difference, especially on a black truck. I could drive by looking at the hood before my line-x. That being said, any local sticker or sign shop should be able to do this for less than $150.

I want it exactly like 1loudLX has it in post 14. From the grill all the way up to the windshield including the little kick-outs.

I wouldn't go all the way to the front edge, leave a little paint like Henry's truck. Looks so much better.

Thanks for getting the ideas flowing! Can you guys Get me measurements of the Width of the hood on the rear? and the lenght of the hood.

im limited to about 45" due to the width of the vinyl 3M Offers.. so either length or width will need to be less than that.
