I aquired a '78 frame & tub many years ago for free & it's been stored away, scattered throughout my basement. I finally got around to piecing it back together. I've also been gathering drivetrain parts over the years. I have all the body parts & all of the drivetrain w/ components installed, except the engine. I sold the 2F I was going to use a while back, so I'm lookin for another.

Drivetrain:
SM420 tranny w/ Dana 300 & Tera Low 4:1
Dana 60 front w/ ARB 7.17's
Dana 70 rear steer w/ Detroit 7.17's

Wheels & tires:
H1 double beadlocks recentered w/ Stazworks centers & Copperhead Fab rock rings
Don't have the tires yet, but I'm planning on either 42" SX's or 42" Iroc stickies

Engine & accessories:
2F (don't have yet)
Fuel Injection from a Spaceghost adaptor to use a setup from a Chebby S-10
Premier Power Welder
Warn M12K winch

Body mods:
I will use all the stock sheetmetal from the cowl forward, the door sills & stock half doors (modified)
I extended the frame 18" in order to form the base mount for a cage (similar to a dbl. rollbar - more on this later)
The rear section behind the rollcage will be tubed out & I'll use a double gas can carrier already fabbed for the tailgate.
No front bumper plans yet as the P.O. cut off the front frame horns @ the crossmember
I'll run Fiero seats
Stock gas tank
I'm planning on using perforated metal for the floor since I cut out the old rusted floor.
Spare tire will be mounted on the rear of the angled cage

Suspension:
TJ 8" lift coils front & rear w/ stock TJ coil retainers
3 link front w/ panhard & triangulated 4 link rear
I have a little bit of 1/4" wall DOM link tubing but no joints
Steering will be PSC full hydro

That's about all I can think of right now. So far, I've started on the frame, wheels & half doors. The doors bottoms will extend inward & have storage, similar to the one's I built for the :pig:. I'll continue fabbing smaller stuff till I get a garage bay available. I'll be using Rustoleum gloss white for all the body pieces, hammered silver for body accent pieces, rollcage, tubing, coils & black for the underbody. Stay tuned.......:bounce2:

sounds nice, you going to make it to the annual?

Might make the annual, not sure yet. I fogot to add that I won't be spending much $$$ at all on this till I finish up the other two. I'll just be using my time & materials I already have. I think the cage & back half design will set it apart from any other 40. I'll get the body & tubework done 1st as that'll be the most time consuming part.

Get the "Pig Project" finished already :flipoff2:.
Then start the 40 build.
Damnit man... get out and wheel something :D,.

Already the 5th post & I thought it'd come sooner than that. The :pig: is about ready to get rewired, so I gotta save up for the harness + someone else's install rate. The other 40 is waiting on Staun$$$, so I gotta have something to work on during the weekdays :flipoff2:

Yea, here we go with another build that will never see the sunshine. I don't think these trucks are really his, he's stealing pics from Pirate and claiming as his own. :flipoff2:

at least get ONE done before you start on another. sounds like Gordon has been rubbing off on you.

Hendog can 'ya put out the flames? I'm on fire here......:D

He cant help ya, the Blue Viagra has been down for months but I thought I heard a rumor...

We have a rebuilt Multi-Port, 4-bolt 350 at the shop that would pe perfect for that project. Disreguard the Lexus badge, we were going to put it in an LX450.

$1000 for the engine w/ all new internals and heads
$1000 for the complete EFI setup. ECU, Harness, Dizzy, New Fuel Pump etc.

You may have heard a rumor...FACT is that the blue VIAGRA is sitting behind my house on the trailer...Dont know if it is running... He snuck it behind the house when noone was looking late one night... SNEAKY BA#$@#%^& !!!

Although tempting on the 350, I'd like to keep something in the drivetrain Land Cruzah  I'm going to look at a 2F long block in 2 weeks for cheap. The goal right now is to spend as little ca$h as possible while I save up for funds to finish the other two ongoing projects. Thanks anyway, it sounds like a good deal :D

Half Doors/ Door Strikers

I added the extended part of the storage area to the base of the doors. Should be about a 4" deep storage bin. I'm using 1/8" mat'l. to give these a little strength. Also, I had to refab the upper door strikers to accept the older doors. I capped the tops too.

I finished the bottom areas. I decided to just leave it mostly open. All that's left is to box in the remaining sides & top sections. Both tops of the doors were bent, like someone stepped on 'em  So, I've been trying to straighten that area & also keep the doors aligned.

I had some warping at the bottom so I had to cut the bases & the outside panel & use a BFH to correct the alignment. After I somewhat straightened them out, I added the top pieces. Next pics, I'll have the upper panels burnt in & all cleaned up ready for paint.

I finshed these up :bounce: A lot of finish grinding was done, now I'll sand 'em down & paint later. I've already started some tub repair. It was rusted down at the bottom of each floorboard at the body mount areas. This should keep me busy for a little bit patching & replacing sheetmetal.

Update

I definitely need an auto-darkening lens working w/ this sheetmetal. The dash is patched up & I've got about all the holes done on the rest of the tub, now I gotta tackle the bottom corners where it's pretty bad eaten up. I also patched the factory holes in the base of the door sills. I fitted up the tranny hump too. It's in pretty good shape but I won't cut any till I get the drivetrain in & figure out where the shifters come up. Pics later.......
