Yep, I just saw that at Lowes. You went with 2x10's? I'm going to go over those fenderwells too. Trying to figure out how to maximize the use of that space. I'd like to be able to stow all of my camping gear under there, tools in other, regular gear and dog kennel on top.

Thanks for the progress report.

Anytime, and when you're ready I have all the saws and tools you'd need. As soon as my bum foot is healed up I'll post pics of the completion :)

Very nice.

Now that is different.

I'm looking for some 1 1/8 2 piece split locking collars here in town for the Yakima rack I just got. Will use them to make some holders for the highlift and half ladder rack later on. :D Anyone know where I can find some? Going to Aluminum and Stainless tomorrow and they don't have them but they did have my continuous hinge for my deck

Yakima load bars added, now just need the clamps to mount the long@ss highlift and future ladder rack.

Half way there on the storage/sleeper going pick up my hinge tomorrow so I can make the top section then paint. I was amazed at what I fit in this container 1 tote and then some of camping supplies. I think I'm gonna like it :)

Adjusted my plans, all I'm lacking is wings, latch and paint.

Looks good Larry!

You should be able to fit those camp chairs under there too. Let's see a pic of what all you have in the storage box to get an idea of how much you can fit. Also, what are your ideas for securing gear on top of the deck when you're wheeling? Some guys in the expedition forum built cages behind the seats to keep flying gear from busting their heads, some ratchet strapped everything, and some used those SUV cargo nets and strapped everything down.

In the end I'll have 1/2 eye bolts to ratchet everything down in a X. I can't stand to have things bouncing around while I'm driving especially on a trip. I'll get some pics of the contents to show how much they'll hold. :)

larry howd the bead balancing go?

Here is the long but necessary version of what brought on the beads.

I went to the beads when I rotated these new tires for the first time. The Goodyear shop across the St from the office couldn't get the front tires to balance they tried twice so it drove me to try the beads in just the front to see how they would work. Outcome was better but moved the vibration speed. My next though was to add more beads 1 oz at a time but I decided to call the dynabead folks to see what their thoughts would be and they siad no I had a hard spot on one of the tires and need to find out which one it is. I rotated one side at a time until I found the tire and I did its now on my pass rear. Right now its driving balanced and my vibrations through the steering are gone. Next time I rotate them I'll add the beads to the other two tires to see how they act. I've been told by the tire guy sometimes you can dismount the tire and grind down the hardspot and it'll balance. If we can't I'll move that tire to the spare and replace it. Remember these were blems I got a good deal on. In short do the beads work? I do believe in a good set of tires they will and I'll try it on the smaller 33's on the 40 to see. Its probably not worth the headache if your tires can be spin balanced without issues. For me if I can get it right and not worry about balancing them again for the life of the tire it'll be worth the headache. :meh:
