Dammit Landry!!!! I was soooooo hoping to be wrong .. How bout I order one and we drive side by side?? :D

Nice looking light tho bud.. and still a bargin being that I've seen the same red-ring HID for $250 per light.

me

Put it on the Troopy (your dominate eye) and the side by side would be funny.Think of how wide that vehicle would look at night

Decided to change the brake pads today because she started to pull to the right yesterday. I started on the passenger side and found my rotors packed with sand/clay. Has anyone ever seen this before? It has been about 5 months since I was in clay/sand. Well then I went to the driver's side and found out to my joy that my calipers are frozen solid. I went ahead and ordered a re-man for $100 because by the time I rebuilt the calipers and changed out the pistons I would have spent more $$$ and lots more time. The moral to this story is check your rotors. Maybe you hard core off road guys do. duno.

With the core charge???? Dude, why do I always get the shaft?? Don't tell anyone but I bought a non-Toyota part for the first time. I heard other Mud members have had great results after 6 years and I am sure I willl not have this one for more than 3 years.

I took the time to change the exhaust manifold gaskets Friday morning before heading out of town for a Scout trip. I presoaked it all down with some PB blaster and for the first time didn't have to fool with any broken manifold bolts  OEM gaskets and a good cleaning and it was all sealed up for the trip. With the new cats and tail pipe it created a leak at the manifolds. I was glad I did it. On the highway it seemed to have more get up and go and more responsive when I step on the gas. The exhaust valves need some attention I cleaned the ports best I could and will have to save the rest when I change the head gasket later in the year. No engine light for the last 180 miles :D

Impressive. How long was the job?

Not bad 3 hrs or so. I spent more time cleaning I wish I had time to blast and paint after they were off. When I rework the head I'll do that. :)

Since I added the 315 STT's I've been having balancing issues. Before I rotated them its was just at 55 mph. I took it in again to have them rebalance them and its much worse. So its time to try the airsoft BB's before we head out for the Arkansas trip.

Tire Chart Map

The dyna beads call for 8 oz for a 315/75/16 so I went to Academy and bought the larger .20g BB's instead of the smaller .12g which is all Walmart carried. Dumped them in a bag to get my 8 oz on the scale and will just put them in the front for now to see if it will correct my issue :meh: from what I've read from our fellow mudders it works.

:popcorn:Good luck hope it works out for you. I saw a few people have complained about the dificulity of balancing these tires in some reviews online, with no response from Cooper.

Looking for some HID lights for the 80 I ordered a set of these as they fit my price range. I also looked at the $300 HID sets and just couldn't do it. I'll report back later.

Crap

Larry,

Would those Rubbermade storage containers fit in a storage bay made with 2x6's? I know you used 2x10s.

M

I think they just might I'll measure them for you. I needed to get the deck over the rear fenderwells which is why I went with the 2x10's too.

7 inches deep and 20 inches wide. You could go with the 2x8's? What you need to do is measure from the floor to the top of the rear fenderwells. You want to have your deck fit over the top of the fenderwells or you'd have to notch it and it would take away from your top deck space.

Yep, I just saw that at Lowes. You went with 2x10's? I'm going to go over those fenderwells too. Trying to figure out how to maximize the use of that space. I'd like to be able to stow all of my camping gear under there, tools in other, regular gear and dog kennel on top.

Thanks for the progress report.

If it was me i would use 2x4 $.02 X carpenter. That what they build houses with.
