I bought the Warn 5742, it looks like it'll fit.

It has "PEP CHINA" on the side. I thought warn stuff was made in America???

I hear ya, man. That's why the price is so high - you're paying for shipping, too! How much they soak you? I paid $105 in 2001 for mine.

$125.99.

And with the awesome CA and Los Angeles sales tax it came to about $140.00

Ouch! Oh well, now for mounting it and on to the fun part - using it!
For me, the fairlead was key. Once it was located, I drilled the holes through the face of the ARB. These holes and bolts are the bottom 2 winch mounting holes and bolts. Then you can locate the top 2 winch holes. I was fortunate in that I didn't need spacers. My Ramsey was short enough to give me adequate clearance on the ends. Good luck with yours! Keep us posted.

Well I finally got the winch in yesterday.

It went fairly well, I had a few setbacks...

I needed to make spacer brackets, I guesstimated 3/8" plate would be enough. I cut 2 spacers about 2 1/8" x about 7" and drilled the 2 holes for the bolts.

It still hit. I then cut 4 2" by 2" spacers and drilled out of 3/16" plate.

Put the 3/8" plate against the inside of the ARB and 3/16" between the foot pads and plate.

went down to the hardware store and bought new, longer bolts to make up the space for the brackets.

Overall it went well. I was very happy I didn't have to relocate my PA/horn speaker that almost got in the way of the install.

Just need to wire it now. the solenoid pack would have fit nicely across the 2 cross bars of the winch, now that it's clocked "foot forward", it isn't very pracktical.

I'm thinking I'll mount it up under the ARB (drivers side) near the a/c dryer area. I'll take apart and extend the wires for the control switch plug. drill a hole in the front of my bumper and have just the control outlet plug mounted flush to the face of the bumper.

I'll let you know how that goes....
