I sold my beloved Landcruiser FJ40 recently. As a long time enthusiast, I am experiencing sever sellers remorse..... Id like to find another project that I can start over with. Would prefer minimal rust with a hardtop and doors, not modified, original paint, Etc., but I will consider any year cruiser in any condition within a 400 mile radius of 84770, as long as its not priced as though it were made from solid gold. Does not need to be opperational, have an engine, transmission, Etc. I'm looking for a project, Not something previously restored. Show me what you've got. Call, text, or email Mike at: (435) 414-1197
Okay, I've been searching not for long, but am a very motivated buyer. I posted about some I've found and test drove but so far no luck. I've inquired about one on this forum that I hope will work out (fingers crossed). But if not, here is what I'm looking for: - 1975 or older - this is key living in the "commie" state I do. :) - Mechanically sound - I am very handy on home remodeling projects but don't know much about cars. My friend who is a car guy says I could probably figure out a lot of it, but I don't know how much time I'm willing to put into it. I figure I can handle most of the light cosmetic stuff. Mechanical stuff... not so much. Although I'd love to learn more about it and seems like it wouldn't hurt to know...

Hey guys - Trying to figure out what my '74 FJ40 is worth in it's current condition. It's a "barn find" with 85,000 miles. I'm torn between selling it now as an original runner or starting a restoration. If I sell it, what to ask? Previous owner said it has the "factory" PTO, and believed the winch to be original. I'm not sure about that, as it's a Braden winch, but it does have the factory rear heater. Completely stock and original as far as I know, runs great and everything works, but has typical tub rust. Frame is good and much of the floor is decent. It has been painted at least once. Appreciate any input and advice. Thanks in advance! Will upload some pics shortly.
When I bought this, my plan was to tear it down and restore/rebuild. However due to time constrainents and lack of funds, I have decided to sell it. I bought this FJ running and drivable. I was told the engine was recently rebuilt when I bought it. The engine seemed to run strong and compression tests were good. However it did need carburetor work. As I began to get it ready for PA Inspection, I decided that the best way to know what I have is to tear it down. So that’s what I did. I tore the entire truck down. I then had the frame sent out to have all rust cut out, sand blasted and rust cutouts repaired. I had a new front cross member fabricated (Old one was completely rusted) to allow for power steering to be added. Then...

1966 FJ40 very clean with PTO Winch
Hi guys, my buddy and I just finished a frame-off resto on this 66 FJ40. We did the paint ourselves, and we don't plan on winning any awards for beauty, but we used good-quality epoxy primer. All the nooks and crannies that the spray wouldn't reach were then carefully covered with the epoxy by hand, and we finished it with single-stage acrylic enamel mixed to the factory color code of Horizon Blue. We used almost no body filler, intending the paint job to be functional rather than cosmetic, which it is. MODS & FEATURES: 2F from a 1978 FJ40 4-speed transmission from the same FJ Original 3-speed (10-spline) transfer case coupled to the 4-speed using the Seamaster adapter, giving extra-low ratio in low-range Modified T-Case...
Hi everyone, first off thanks for all the info you guys provide. I've been interested in fj's for years and reading the forums off and on. I'm now finally in the position to purchase my first landcrusier!! I've been searching craigslist for weeks and finding its not as easy to find cruisers on the east coast as it seems it is to find them on the west coast, so I figured this would be the place to come. I'm looking for a 76 or newer, mostly stock, minimal rust of course, and one that runs good as my occupation in residential construction doesn't translate too well to fixing mechanical issues. I used to have a jeep I did a lot of work on, so I'm comfortable with most anything short of engine work. Definitely want a...

1st- About me: For those of you who dont know my name's Brysen and im 16 and looking for a 40 for my first car and daily driver. I fell in love with 40's since i first laid eyes on one and my heart and mind is set on getting one (there's no talking me out of it seriously). I live in Charlotte,NC so its a bit of a challenge finding one around where I live, but I'm willing to travel to find the "right" one. I've been looking for over a year now, and have been on mid since march so i know something about 40's and cruisers (or at least i think i do haha). Ive talked with many members of my local club ONSC and I've got a tread on their page as well. I'm just ready to find the right one and hopefully y'all can help me out in some way or...
Odd one: custom fabricated hitch step
Among the threads I've seen, there is some astounding fabricating skill among the mud members and I'm wondering if someone wants a fairly basic project to earn some beer/date/movie cash. Here's what I'm looking for: I've got a lifted FJ45 Troopy that I love dearly. But getting in and out of the back for anyone other than a small child (who have the approximate agility of a spider monkey) is tricky. I would like to get a hitch step fabricated that would allow everyone else to easily and gracefully enter/exit the back of the troopy. It seems to make sense to me to start with a standard hitch step (or at least the dimensions and go from there). I've attached pictures of a standard 2" hitch and then a PDF with some thoughts on the...
