1977 FJ40, Clean title - In Hand needs restored
This FJ40 has been in my family for almost 18 years. It was my first vehicle, as with most things it was put on a back burner. It hasn't been licensed in I don't know how many years either. Was driven periodically for a few years then sat in a barn for 8 years didn't move. Shortly before my dad passed last year the property where it was stored was sold. Mom said it had to go from her house. I had hoped to finish it and get it back on the road but I literally work 70+ hours a week. 77,200 miles. It will start right up and can be driven onto a trailer. The front knuckles need rebuilt, and probably axle seals. Brakes need completely gone through. Think there is valve cover leak off the back side(potentially head gasket...
Hey Mudders, I just wanted to pass on a link for a 1982 FJ40 (no A/C but some sort of P/S) in Medford, OR that someone may be interested in. He is asking $5300 but may be a little flexible. It's been for sale for a while now and I talked to him a few months back when the ad was first placed. Nice guy. Several months ago (may have even been last year even) I saw what appeared to be a good deal on Boise Craigslist for a red '82 and it turns out this rattle can blue one was the same Boise red one. It needs pretty extensive body work, definitely a new bezel :), and I haven't actually seen it in person. Here's the link: 1982 FJ40 fj 40 land cruiser. Just passing it along for anyone looking for a late model project.

78 FJ40 in GA
78 FJ40 dual purpose project with title in hand that I started the conversion to a 5.7 Vortec from a 91 K1500 4x4. The motor is good and I bought a Howell stand alone wiring harness to ease plug n play. Also has a fresh rebuild 700r4 automatic that is installed ready to mate to Toyota minitruck transfer cases with Advance Adapters adapters but hasn't even had fluids run thru it yet so literally 0 miles since rebuild. I have 3 transfer cases to offer: doubled Toyota Mini truck boxes (stock 2.27 gears in both), Dana 300 twin stick needing a seals rebuild, and a 1980 3spd. Cruiser transfer case. Hello all: Long time member here on MUD, sold most of my cruisers after receiving some life changing news a few years back. Well I am happy to say, after countless MRI's / CT scans / 100's of visits to Cedars 20 pills a day, I am officially cured, yup no meds, next follow up July of 2016. Well enough with the drama, looking for a pre 74 ,40 to start wrenching on. Please keep me in mind if you know of one. Thanks Again Mike
Extremely Civilized 1979 FJ40
I just added some pics to Photobucket…. There are 8 sub albums: http://s921.photobucket.com/user/multi-mediacorp/library/79%20FJ40%20Land%20Cruiser?sort=3&page=1 This matching numbers 1979 truck was restored in 1995 with 47,000 miles on it by Cool Cruisers of Texas (note the stainless steel fasteners) and shipped to a Lake vacation Cabin in Minnesota where it was lightly used for grocery/pizza runs in the summer (11,000 miles in 16 years) and kept in a heated garage the rest of the time. It currently resides in a garage and is taken out regularly (weather permitting, of course). What you will not find on this truck is any Rhino Liner to hide repairs… You won’t find “strengthening” diamondplate aluminum panels anywhere on this...
1976 fj40 Upstate NY
This land cruiser was first owned by a doctor in Naples florida and came with dealer installed ac. The truck was purchased by the second owner in Naples where he stored it in a garage for a number of years and still has under 60k original miles. In 2004 the truck got a "frame up" restoration, was gone through mechanically(mechanical work done by licensed mechanics) and cosmetically (body work done at a hotrod shop). In 2006 the truck was moved to Vermont and was only driven with the top off during the summers. The truck is currently in a garage at my parents in upstate New York. Mechanically 9/10- The truck really needs nothing. 2f engine 4 spd transmission. It is desmogged. It is very clean under the hood and all original. Starts...
