This FJ40 is mechanically great and I drive it a few hundred miles a week. Cosmetically this truck is perfect for daily driving, not show quality but looks good from 10ft or in pictures.
Engine has less than 5,000 Miles and runs perfect. Never overheats even during the summer in CA Traffic
Brakes are new and freshly adjusted, stops great.
Truck is complete, no damage or major rust.

I purchased this beautiful and very capable U.S. Spec. FJ40 from a local Houston Mud Member in October 2022. He bought it out of Tucson, Arizona where it lived much of its life. This 40 is known by a few guys on this forum that wheeled with the PO, and some of the members of the Houston’s Bayou City Cruisers Club are familiar with the truck as well. It has a proven history as a very dependable, unstoppable rig. PO put it through its paces on multiple trails in Colorado (Montezuma, Taylor Creek and Pearl) and it didn’t miss a beat. I purchased this truck out of Tucson from the original owner. It was amazingly complete and rust free. he had it stored under multiple layers of tarps to protect it from the weather. It did not have an engine or transmission so it made a perfect candidate. My goal was to have an original early cruiser with upgrades for drivability and safety. Well I suppose when the money runs out its time to move on. I'm shifting priorities again in life and the 40 is in a position where I am content and ready to let it go.
It has been my daily driver since I 'finished' assembling the truck for about 2.5 years. Usually sees 50-70 miles per day during the week on pavement. It hums along happily at about 70mph but can hang at 80 if needed. A majority of the details are in the thread below:

1. 2F sourced from a 1983 Fj60.

This rig has been in Colorado for several owners and spent time in California. SBC 350 from a '92 Suburban swapped in a couple of owners ago. The previous owner had the following done at Proffitt's: 2.5" OME, 33" Maxxis tires, custom front and rear bumpers, Tuffy lock box, Corbeau seats, a front-facing rear seat. Previous owner had just moved to Montana, I purchased it there and had Overland Cruisers in Belgrade do miscellaneous work before the drive to Colorado (repair speedometer and odometer, wiring issues, throttle cable, driveshaft service, throttle body rebuild). Selling my well loved and garaged 1973 FJ40 with 104k miles. Original engine, frame & body upgraded to OEM 4 speed/original 3 speed transfer with strenthening plates. Head was redone at 85k. Well, as much as it breaks my old, crusty heart - time to let this old Cruiser go. I can't do the work on it anymore due to health issues and really don't have a decent place to completely tear it down and do a restoration - as was intended when I bought it. Bought this old girl in Nov2011, had a lot of issues from the previous owner and a lot of things hacked on it - it was basically from a flipper that thought an OD Green flat paint job would increase it's value, wrong.
Original color is Dune Beige. Outside is WWII OD Green, mostly black floors in the interior, rest is dune beige as original. There are some of the door headers and such that are obviously from other trucks as there is other colors underneath the green.

1963 Land Cruiser FJ40 For Sale $5,000
I bought it as is with the intent to rebuild, but life got in the way and I need the room.
From what I can tell it was in So Cal (originally sold) until it was brought to Idaho in late 90's. I bought it from the 2nd owner and it hasn't moved since I picked it up.
PO Installed a 350 with manual trans, trans installed along with bell housing but the motor went out and was pulled. FJ40 transfer case is installed now. PO also did a SOA swap with brand new shocks. It will currently roll and has a tow bar installed on front so it will tow easily.
Included are spare brake parts, rear swing out tail gate, new radiator, Warm flood lights, drive shafts.

*Pretty much original, except rims, springs, and it has disc brakes, also has a Tuffy box
*Vehicle runs (1F) and drives okay, but it is hard to get into 3rd gear, as it has sat for a while
*There is some rust in the body, but the frame is good (surface rust,) definitely needs going through
*Not the prettiest FJ40 out there, but it would be a great project

*Original doors are good and it comes with original top, but it is in poor condition

1976 FJ40 - Original paint mustard yellow FJ40 patina truck. Besides the surface patina, there's no rust at all. From inland California before it came to me in Phoenix.
350 conversion with hei distributor, stock 4 spd and transfer case. Transmission and transfer case recently resealed. New centerforce clutch, clutch master and slave cylinders.
All new brake lines, rebuilt wheel cylinders and calipers, new master cylinder and booster. Front disc brakes.
Reupholstered seats with Cruiser Corps covers.
Starts, runs, and drives very well. There are still plenty of things to tinker on, but she's a very solid good looking truck. It still needs a lock and ignition switch set to have a matching key.
