Guys, how do I get more memory to send pics...who do I contact? These are cropped big time. Anyway, a clean install but not for the faint of heart.

Steve,

Looks like you did a super-clean job installing it. It looks like a factory job! :)

I'm glad it's worked out in the end! ;)

Mot :)

very nice job! looks like pro work.
Is this really sturdy? there are good mounts in the back?

Yeah really sharp man, thanks for the pics. I'm leaning more and more to getting one.

Do you have any installation pics?

Looks great, anxious to see some install pics if you have them. Doesnt look to me from your pics that it would interfere with the air bag at all, that was my main concern.

Actually, I was just going to post on the airbag. It definitely will affect the airbag as it (airbag) extends downward from the bottom edge of the SRS opening. I don't think it will be an issue, though and wouldn't stop me from installing one.

Guys My ARB bar is NOT airbag compliant so it is irrevelant whether it interferes..this was not an issue . No install pics because Koffer alreaady did that. His were very accurate. It is very sturdy. It sticks out about 5" though..My wife is short so she can still cross her legs. If your taller it might be an issue. I can walk someone through the install if need be..let me know.

Doesn't really matter, if there is enough impact to the front end that the energy is transmitted to the sensor(s), in the engine bay IIRC, they will still go off. But as others said, I don't think the grab bar will have much effect on airbag deployment

Hey you'll only use the airbag once  but the grab handle will be used alot more ;p

Nice, How long did it take you to mount it? Since yours isn't a parts truck like Koffer's

Also, another idea I was thinking about for the bar, you could have a board with some hooks on it and someone in the pass. seat could hold a laptop, or have a picnic type table. I know this could be done before, with the ledge, but adding hooks will make it more stable. Since mines a 94, I don't have to worry about the airbag for either of those 2 applications. With the airbag, I would of course say to use it only in a stationary vehicle :)

The mounting on the parts truck was about a hour to the point of just installing it to the dash . Everything was still in and on the dash before I started . I would figure about 1:30 to 1:45 from start to finish

Very kewl. Nice and neat install. Congrats. :flipoff2:

Wow! That bar looks great! Goin' to have to put that on the list that continues to grow with no end in sight...

I too would like to know how sturdy it is. Could a small child hang from it? How about a double back flip dismount?? :D

Its good to see a grab bar in Oak finally installed. It looks really good. I think I just might have to get one now. :grinpimp:

This reminds me of a little-known tale about the flamboyant Houston attorney, Richard Haynes (aka "Racehorse")

Racehorse was stopped by HPD late one night driving very fast in his Turbo Porsche. After some discussion, the policeman insisted on giving Haynes a sobriety test. Haynes somehow conned the cop into demonstrating that he was sober by doing a backflip off the whale-tail of the Porsche. The cop said OK, but you've got to land it. Haynes jumped up on the huge rear wing, turned around, did a complete backflip, and landed it perfectly. A few minutes later he was driving off; drunk as a skunk.

True story.

Yes I would say on a 'live" truck it will take at least an hour.
I certainly think it is a great "shelf" for drinks or a computer..and of course you can jam french fries inside it so it won't spill ;-)
