I picked this up a few weeks ago and just got around to installing it. I got 8 of the new low profile 30/60 risers from gamiviti and 4 48" 10ga cross members from Tallowpot. Probably overkill for carrying ladders and canoe/kayaks but I really liked the design. There are tons of nice racks out there but I wanted something low profile, beefy and flat for transporting ladders and this has exceeded my expectations. Thanks guys:cheers:

I set them all level from the highest bar and end up with about 1/2" above the remaining factory runners. Obviously the outer factory rack was removed. Sealed it up with screws and silicone until i decide what i want to do for a permanent fix.

The first pic is a before shot?

Yeah, just for height reference. I guess a tape measure would have worked better:hillbilly:

Superjuice, does your rig fit in a 7ft garage with the rack on?

hows the noise... whistling?

I was looking at doing this as well and would like to know how the wind noise is.

I can hardly hear it around town or on the highway. That is unless the sunroof is open, then it's unbearable at any speed. I think the low profile keeps the wind resistance/ turbulence down but when the sunroof opens it's a whole different dynamic.

As for the height I'll measure when I get home in a few weeks but it's above my head and I'm 6'6"

I still love the rack though, no regrets here:cheers:

I had the load bars on my 80, they are nice. Thin that you don't get any wind noise but a pair held my RTT and a third held my LED light bar with no problems. Easy to pull off if you want to go slick/no load bars. I got the longer bars and have them on my Troopie now.

A really inespensive way to load your junk up on the roof without the expense and bulk of a full roof rack.

Looks good.
Does the 48" crossbar cover the entire roof width? Was thinking between the 48 and the 53's.

Just to answer my own question with the answer I received from Nathaniel @ tallow pot:

The 48" crossbars sit inset from the roof line approximately 2". The 53" crossbars sit outside of the roof line approximately 1". My choice was always the 48" length with our gutter brackets. Kept the roofline narrower by a small bit to avoid trees and such.
