that is a one nice clean 65 ya got there

very nice 65!! thanks far sharing the pics im looking for a soft top soon

I'll add the other pics tomorrow...I have some of the inside and rear...Not the best writeup, but if someone is considering buying this top it'll at least give them something to look at.....I'll add a review as well when I add the other pics....:)

Thanks for the post-up, ocdbeetle. I started a "Supertop" install this evening. I will reference if I run into trouble. Thanks!

No Prob...When you put on the windshield channel you'll see it looks too long....Try to resist cutting the middle out to make it shorter...You'll end up with top that has no channel to go in....At least put it together first and see how it works...After reading the ih8mud threads and calling Bestop, they insisted it shouldnt be cut ...
The top works very nicely at speeds up to 65...havent gone faster...Looks nicer than tops I see on heeps...I like the styling and ease of fit...here are some more pics...

great job!! looks excellent! I also have a supertop on my '73. I notice you have the same open area where the back of the door meets the uprights as I do on mine. The only bummer I have with that is the wife lets me know that the wind on the back of her arm is cold..... I mentioned that she should wear sleeves or a coat..... :)

Yeah....thats a bummer....I wonder if soft doors from Bestop would fit nicely without gaps?

I went ahead and stuck with the hard doors, I have plenty of other places I want to put money into my machine, but then again, it is obvious by the pics that you are light-years ahead in your crusher than I am in mine!! Beautiful ride! :)

Should be two of those straps on each side...When you fold back the soft top (picture the top being folded back on a convertible) those two straps wrap around the top and bows and hook into the beltrail to keep the top from bouncing around....

That makes sense. Do the bows fold down with the soft top as well?

Yes,
Just unscrew the wingnut on each side from the windshield bracket....

On another note...I removed the rear window and rolled up the sides yesterday....It worked out quite well and was fun....Make sure you have the rear bow secured to the tub with the included straps...

On mine the sides rolled up with an odd dog leg at the back and the snaps to secure the sides to the top seemed to be placed too far forward. They barely held the sides up.

I was running in to that too....Its warm here for a few more days so I'll probably roll them up again and I'll take some pics....

We had the same problem with my son's doors but filled the gap with pipe insulation that's the same color as the top. It's the pipe insulation that looks like the pool floats you might use in the summer. The pieces we used actually came in a water heater kit from Home Depot. It has really thick walls, comes split already, and fills the gap nicely. No rain or wind gets in.

Looks good. I like how they have created the "track" along the tub rails to attach the top. The old tops required snaps and drilling and never held. I wish they would come up with a better method of attachment along the top of the doors rather than velcro. That never held on my old top and would blow open at highway speeds.
