yeah it looks like a short to me also since i have a long one and mine does stick out more..

i just got fender well headers also..

just curious does you motor sit straight when you look at it from the front?? mine appears to be cocked a little..

i like the valve cover and air cleaner i was looking at the same ones for mine.

A short Chevy water pump is 5.625" from the block to the flange where you bolt the fan on, a long pump is 7.00".

I just measured it....just shy of 6" you guys were correct ..... SHORT WATERPUMP....thanks to everybodys input .:):):):):)

If you have the room. Change to a long pump. It will give you alot more options of pulley combinations. Check and make sure your heads and exhaust manifolds have bolt holes in them. The long water pump is newer and has more options for pulleys and brackets. The shorter pump is used on older vehicles. Using generators and very little P/S.

If your looking for bracket options you can try Alan Grove brackets. They have lots for short and long H20 pumps.

here is a picture of a passenger/high mount. It seems to work out pretty good. There is still a lot of clearance to the hood unless your motor is mounted very high in the engine bay. This is a short pump too BTW

Here's a better shot of the water pump.

Damnit...quit showing that motor already.....I just bought a 2F, and I'm in the process of cleaning it up and putting it together. Every time I see that I wish that I'd just went straight for the mullet motor:flipoff2:

Are the water pumps interchangeable? will a long pump fit on my Chev 307? I've noticed that most power steering units bolt to the engine head but mine doesn't have that. Has anyone ever mounted power steering to one differently? Could i see some photos?

Cheers

If you are talking about the Dayco belts they have grooves on the outside (I think for increased flexililty)
