It was time for new tires and I went ahead with new wheels as well. I was looking for 18" wheels off a 2006-2007 but couldn't find any. The new wheels are Tundra 18" wheels and the tires are 275/65/18, which makes them 32.1". The old tires are 275/70/16, which makes them 31.2". They fit without any modifications or rubbing. I did use my old center caps as the new ones won't clear the front axel. Caps fit perfectly without any trimming required.

Within about a minute of posting I had some pm me about the old wheels. I mentioned them here but I guess that's not allowed. So, I have a post in the classifieds for the wheels if interested.

How's the ride? Some say they can tell a difference with 18s some can't. You?

The ride is a lot better, but I think that may have more to do with the tires. I went up 1" in tire size with no noticeable change in power. I wasn't sure they would fit until I actually put them on. I was surprised to find out that the center caps work without any modifications at all.

You are my twin! My exterior is black and I took off the running boards though. I have the same Tundra wheels and looking to put some 305 Nittos on it. I think it looks alot better and newer.

Those are the same 18's I have been hoping to go to when I get m next set of tires.....

Those Tundra wheels are the closest looking to Cruiser stock design so they are my second favorite from the Tundra line of wheels. Those tires look like low profile tires against the 18" rim. For street driving im sure they ride nice but you dont have much sidewall offroad. I bet first trip on trails and they are toe up.

When you took your running boards off, was there any "tacky" substance left behind when removed? I plan to take my rb's off and was cautioned by a friend who took flares off his tundra and there was som type of tacky substance left. Thanks.

When I took off the running boards off there was only four bolt/scews holding each side on. Did not have any "tacky" substances. There might be when you remove the flares but nothing for the running boards.

Thanks Charlestonfj60. I'm up in Columbia.

The tires are Michelin so I didn't pick them for offroad. However, I do have an 80 and that is the one I take off road. Yes, this one is mostly driven on the street and I think Michelin tires are the best riding street tires. I almost went with an all terrain tire like the Nitto Terra Grappler or the BFG All Terrain for the 100, but I think I'm going to put KM2s on my 80 instead. The 18's look much better than the 16's in person and the 32's feel out the wheel openings better that the stock size. The Tundra center caps will fit on the back but won't on the front. Instead of cutting a hole in the middle, I used the old center caps. Unless you are familiar with land cruisers, the average person wouldn't know these weren't factory wheels.

This one doesn't see much offroad except for the occasional snow or if we take it to the mountains. If I was planning on wheelin' this one, I would plan on keeping my old wheels, probably powdercoat them dark grey and put some 33's or 35's on it.

See photos. Had 8 bolt/screws on each board.

Did the same swap on my 98 LC from a 2007 Tundra. Got a scare when installing, I watched the tire guy fumble around I thought it might be hanging on the caliper - but the flat Tundra cap is the problem (I still have them on the rears). The ride is improved since it looks better :D

Here is what mine looks like.......

What percent tint is on your windows? Does the front match the back or does it look different in person? Mine has a bronze color and I've seen pics with tint that makes the rear windows look like mirrors. Was yours untinted or did you tint over the factory bronze tint?
