Trying to rent a trailer but my harness has no power. Is there a fuse that controls that? There doesn't seem to be on in the fuse box diagram. Any other suggestions??

I guess it's my converter box... balls

Are you renting a trailer that requires the use of a 4 to 7 rv pinout?

If it does, the adapter may need to be grounded if the trailer or hitch's paint is new...not sure if this is your issue but I just had it last week;)

nope, it's a 4pin trailer. just a little uhaul

Does anyone know why it's showing different parts for 98-99 and 00 and up? Did anything change?

I read in another thread that something did change but I don't remember what

The link I posted above from etrailer.com was for a 2000 LC since the OP had a 2000 LC listed in the signature line. I would trust the etrailer website to ensure you get the right part delivered. I've been happy with all my etrailer.com transactions as they have a good website, fast shipping and good prices. I ordered the same converter for my 99 LC and added the 7pin harness and some other towing goodies to go with a brake controller installation. The new converter worked great for me as my factory one had sh*t the bed as well.

I have a couple of questions about installing the parts from etrailer. My oem wiring terminates here:

Is that what is supposed to be replaced? Where is the actual fried connector?

Also, this is what I got from etrailer:

Note: The dog and remote didn't come from etrailer.

Is what I got the correct thingy? Or is there a plug and play solution? What I have has the quick splicers so I can tap into the brake wires.

Thanks!

Ya no plug. For some reason, the 2000 part on etrailer doesn't have a plug...

So if I replace from that plug in my first pic, it should fix the problem?

The "burnt up" part is the converter stuck to the fender inside the truck. It's behind the bottle jack and glued to the left fender under the plastic. It's a black plastic box bigger than your replacement.

All your work and splices should be inside the cabin of the truck.

So the best solution is to just splice in the part I have, not a plug and play deal?

If those don't answer your questions and get you rolling try a search. :D
