This year's event will be from Tuesday, April 30th through Sunday May 5th. Our headquarters will be at Slickrock Campground again. The schedule will be the same as the last couple of years with the overnight runs:

Tuesday - Kokopelli Run Starts (two night run)
Wednesday - San Rafael Swell Run Starts (one night run), Registration, Safety Inspection
Thursday - Guided Trail Runs, Vendor Night
Friday - Guided Trail Runs, Dinner, Raffle
Saturday - Guided Trail Runs
Sunday - Clean up and go home

We expect registration to open around the middle of January. Basically whenever we get all the coding done for the registration pages. The changes from last year to this year should be fairly minimal.

Dave Kaiser is the committee chair this year. I am doing trail assignments again after a 5 year hiatus.

If you would like to attend, now is a good time to put in for time off from work, if you need a lot of advance notice.

Happy crusin'!

Who is leading the Kokopelli Run? Will it be Kurt?

Negative, I'll be keeping the Lone Warrior saloon occupied in the Swell :D

Jon Haris of Book Cliff Cruisers will be leading Kokopelli this year. I am hoping to enlist our friends from Wasatch to lead the San Rafael Swell this year.

Woo Hoo! I finally got allowed into your Wasatch vBulletin board, but have not posted up yet. Holidays and all that. I was hoping to this evening, but here it is after ten and a bazillion emails yet to go. But yeah, I was hoping you guys would be leading the Swell.

You should have had access for a bit no?

Neil Q. and I have been discussing it on the phone, I need to get with him on the permit side of things but yes, count on us for the run, similar format as years past.

Looking forward to it!!!

We have resolved the remaining critical path items for registration, and are working toward a goal of opening registration within a week or so. In the mean time, make sure you put in for time off work (if required) and if you plan to stay in camp, reserve your spot at Slickrock Campground.

With that setup you can accomplish a HUGE number if trails. I would recommend the addition if sliders.

Fins-n-Things, Hell's Revenge, 7 Mile Rim would be great choices for a first trip as well as the overnights.

There are some great scenic runs that are suitable for stock vehicles in good condition like Chicken Corners.

A lot of our trails can be done in any stock Toyota 4x4 with a good driver. I ran all these trails open/open on 31s with stock gears in my 1971 FJ40 with 3-on the tree. With 33s and a locker a good driver can do almost any trail we run. With a crappy driver 44s and rockwells and you will fall down the canyon :steer:

My good friend, former Rising Sun Commander and former Cruise Moab Chair Rob Merideth used to say "Pick your lines, you'll do fine. It is all about the driver skill". I took that to heart and learned to drive a bone stock 40 with no mods. Once I put a locker in and 33s, it was way cool. Then many years later I put in a 4-speed and was able to go slower.

Your trail leader will help you learn to drive the slickrock. That is one of our main objectives in helping Cruise Moab participants have fun, helping them learn to be good drivers.

So it's official now that Book Cliff Cruisers will lead the Kokopelli?

The code and HTML have been revised, and we have been testing for a couple days now. We expect to get the bugs fixed and open registration up some time next week. As I have written elsewhere, we were shooting for the middle of the month, and we are only about a week behind that schedule.

I will post up here as soon as we are open.

Registration Open Monday January 21st

We still have a few bugs to fix and tweaks to work out, but we will open registration on Monday January 21st.

Among the issues are that the dates on the home page are presently incorrect. The dates are Tuesday April 30th through Sunday May 5th.

Happy cruisin'!

Guess those of us on the west coast are going to need to get up VERY EARLY then. :D
