This is a selectable air locker a la ARB, but being sold in the $600-700 range rather than the $800+ range. It's about time there was a real competitor to ARB in the selectable locker department. They don't have a compressor, but you could use an ARB compressor, or whatever OBA system you're running.

Looks like they are only available for jeep, D44 and Toyota 8" axles at this point, but I suggest we all email Yukon Gear and encourage them to develop one for the Land Cruiser. At this price, I would definitely throw one in the front of my family wagon. :)

cool, semi-affordable selectable lockers. my front axle could use one of those if they made them for LC.

they definably need to make one for the toyota 9.5 axle

For $200 difference go with the proven one. Now a $400 difference then I would listen.

Yukon is definitely in the business of making robust and reliable hardware, so I wouldn't shy away from their locker at all, even at a similar price to the ARB. The most important part is that ARB has a competitor. They really have a monopoly on selectable lockers for most vehicles, and a little competition can't hurt. Hopefully the end result will be that the market drives down the cost of ARBs to match the competition.

I would like to see a selectable cable locker that would put pressure to arb and air lockers

I caught this video on the 80 board, worth a look. link at bottom

I posted this on the other thread........

The price of a locker is a small factor in the choice for me. Proven reliability is big, even having know issues is something that can be planned for. I only want to put axles together once on a rig. The time required to do the axle job is well worth paying a little more IF, and I say IF, the part is actually worth using.

For me, ARB has been proven. They have their kinks like any mechanical piece does. They have also been pounded around the globe and keep coming out and doing their job. The Eaton E Locker and the Yukon are new to the market and don’t have the legs yet that the ARB does. Perhaps some years down the line after some real world use the newer lockers will establish themselves. Until then, I’ll go with ARB.

Cable locker is my preference. Reliable, with no questions about is it locked or not.
