I'm sure when I get to the bed of my swb we'll be able to answer some of these questions. Because I do plan on comparing a bunch of the stuff before i replace anything. i'm in no hurry but it's on the list.

Update for you guys...

I have taken a deposit to manufacture one bed and I have another Mudder ready to give a deposit when I actually start. In addition to those two I have my own bed to do. Other than those three beds there are at least four interested parties out there who have not yet been able to commit.

As most of you will already know, I make all of my products "on the side". This is not my day job and thankfully not my only source of income. With family, work, my build and just time to myself to remain sane I am lucky to get 15 hours a week to make components for my fellow Mudders.

Obviously, with only 15 hours a week, a commitment to manufacture three beds quickly turns into three months of committing all my spare moments to the task. Sure, I get all gung-ho at the beginning, but after ten weeks of extra evening hours and weekends spent at the shop it can be a real relief when its done. Don't get me wrong - I am grateful for the opportunity to generate some extra income for my build. And I do really enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done. It's just that these beds are a large undertaking.

By now you're wondering "Where is he going with this rant?". Or something to that effect. Well - I'll spell it out for you.... given the lack of movement of these beds over the last 2+ years I will likely not be making any more after this run. At the very least I will be jacking up the prices using a significantly higher price list that I actually wrote over 14 months ago and never posted. That would at least make it worth the effort. Even so, I doubt very much I'll do another batch within the next couple of years.

So this post comes down to this final statement -

If you want me to make you an LPB bed you'd best get in touch in the next two weeks before I start.

Replied to your PM

The bed is $3250.00 Canadian and the shipping is not really known. So far guys are comming to pick it up or I'm shipping across Canada. Shipping to the US costs more because of duty and export/ import issues. If you are serious I can try and get some hard numbers on shipping for you.

I am in the preliminary stages of putting together a large run of these beds. I am reviewing my layouts to make sure I have incorporated all the little changes. I will be building likely 10 units (8 pre-sold) and I will be ordering material in the next couple of days. As mentioned earlier in this thread it may be a couple/few years before I do another run - maybe never. No pressure intended, just FYI.

Body & Frame Parts for a 1981 BJ42

Hello Awl_TEQ,

Been taking a good look at some of the stuff you have created, looks absolutely amazing. I sent you a PM, describing some parts I am in need of, hoping you can help me out.

These parts are no longer available. Thank you for your past patronage. If my circumstances change I may be able to make them in the distant future..... like maybe 2014/15
