Well There are options, I have been told by a number of people that Moose Mountain has become more tame....whatever that means.

Ernie was planning on running Moose, I would like to stick with Moose unless there is no interest. At this point there seems to be some interest.

I'm. Up for either, where is everybody?

From the beginning of the Yankee Toys Schedule thread I read the following:

"Moose Mountain-
In hopes to check this place out we nabbed Moose Mountain, I don't know much about it and don't know many who have wheeled it, so why not?
From the NEA site
This area is recommended for vehicles with 33s and up with a traction device or winch. There are class VI roads for stock vehicles in the area. The property is very wet all year long so expect mud.
camping can be done on the property. It is primitive with no electricity or running water. "

My first question is this, is this location in Mass or NH?

This is a bit off topic, but the new Massachusetts OHV requirements make it a very expensive pain in the ass if you don't live in Mass. It is cheaper for an out of stater to pay the fine if they get caught than to obtain the OHV sticker due to the fact that you must pay Mass excise taxes on your vehicle before obtaining the $20 stickah. That is excise taxes back to the year the vehicle was made.

I learned all this at the last NEA meeting. I apologize for being lax in posting up the info, but it is in the minutes if you go to the NEA website. NEA has a Mass legislator sponsor that is willing to amend the law to exempt vehicles over 1000 pounds. This OHV sticker requirement was originally passed to be a helmet law for ATV's. Unfortunately, it was written and passed so quickly that the usual wording that normally exempts street type motor vehciles was omitted. In the meantime, buy your $20 sticker if you live in Mass and don't forget the helmet.

I believe Moose Mtn is in NH. You're safe. Here is a link to the fine MA law you are referring to...:

Department of Conservation and Recreation

There are zero state run lands to wheel in MA(see the list at the bottom of that link), but they want you to buy a sticker to support the current program....sad...only in MA!

Come on guys, I've been wheelin with jeeps all year, I need my yota fix

Moose Mountain is in NH.

The only reason why the Massachusetts OHV Sticker subject was touched on was because if there was no interest in wheeling Moose (which now there is) I said there were options (one being in MA).

Sorry for the confusion.

Tom we can go up Friday. Night and camp

So who is the trail leader? Who else is going?

Good chance I'll head out and ride with someone...can you pm the address so I can get an idea of the distance?
thanks!
