Just a quick build thread on the Yota MD ram mount for the dash.

I removed the dash and brought it into my bench

I already had the panel removed and set aside in my truck incase I need to go back to stock. Plus I’m a pack rat.

This little tab was in the way of the ram mount so I needed to cut it off. I wasn’t sure if there was anything underneath though.

I removed the small screws. They are highlighted. I think there are 5-6. I needed to lift the panel up

This is the mount and you can see the tab is in the way.

I cut the tab down to about 7 mm once I saw there was no electronics.

Screw in the circuit board to the back of the dash and then through on the mount. Be careful cutting the plastic not to let any trimmings into the circuit board.

This is the mount in and the final clearance. I’m happy with the distance. Next I needed to add the plastic screws.

I used my hand to support the plastic while I drove in the plastic screws. It felt more stable then using not using my hands. It felt like it would break if I didn’t give it support.

This is a picture from the front after it was installed.

My ram mount is in the mail and will be here tomorrow. Then I will finish this up. But this is pretty much done.

I don't have any plans for that space but have been wondering what my best phone mount options are.

There was a thread on this a while back if you use search. If you are looking for the actual best - it is the Peak Design mount IMO. Ball Mount | Peak Design Official Site - https://www.peakdesign.com/products/ball-mount-adapter?Power=Charging+Qi2&Mount=Non-Locking&Size=20mm
I just started using a magsafe mount in my daily driver and LOVE it. Not sure if they would stand up to abusive trail driving, but might have to try it out on my RAM mount in the 100 soon enough. That magnetic convenience is awesome.
