Question i have for yall, should i keep using the flat black paint like i did the grille

I love the flat-black look...

But I think I mentioned this before, in my own experience with flat-black paint and/or coatings is that they tend to "hold" mud and water stains, making the painted surfaces difficult to keep looking new (especially emblems ! )

A simple fix is to keep a fresh coat of wax over the flat paint... but then it looks more like a semi-gloss.

Did that make any sense whatsoever ?

yeah, you PM'd me bout that. Thats why im thinking of switching over to the plastidip rubberized coating. Its a semi-gloss-like finish with a rubbery heavy duty texture. I just cant decide.......i hate having options!

Well, i have my rear emblems off, used a heat gun/fishin line then brought it by my detail shop to have em get the glue off and buff the tailgate.



i take that back, i love having options, i just hate having a bunch of good options.

i like the clean look you've got...but over there in the USA you have "only" the 4.7L V8 and in later models the VVTI variant which we didn't get down here.

Everyone knows what you have under the hood anyway..(V8 or VVTI V8??)

So are you going for the clean look, or the stealth look?

I'm only asking coz as you know here in Oz, you've got the poverty pack deisel (non-turbo which is soon to be discontinued apparently), and the 4.2L turbo-deisel or the 4.7L V8 petrol (gasoline) engine options...which i know that you know.

I'm just curious, not "stirring the pot" as we say. I quite like my V8 badge on the tailgate, as i had a Monaro (1970's Oz GM muscle car) with a nice V8 badge as well...

i took my V8 emblem off a long time ago, it made the back look much cleaner. I didnt like how the back wasnt "even" with emblems.





I'm second guessing the whole "black" look, i dont know what to do.

well, i put sticker emblems on the sides because a, its cleaner and b, i didnt feel like painting such expensive emblems.

Chrome has now been fully blacked out on the vehicle.
