Last week the wife and I took a week vacation to Yellowstone and Teton National Parks. The first five nights we spent camping in Yellowstone and sleeping in the back of Stoffel (my 1989 HJ61). I had my concerns about spending that many nights camping, but everything went AWESOME!! The rig was comfortable and ran great, we showered every other day at the Old Faithful Lodge, and the wife was a champ camping that long! In the park we did some sightseeing, some hiking, and a lot of driving around enjoying the scenery. Here are some pics:

These guys came strolling right through the campground like they owned the place!

I even stalked this guy until he stopped so I could admire his 70 series rig! He and his wife were from Germany visiting. Cool rig!

The next couple of nights we spent in a posh hotel in Teton Village just outside of the national park. After camping for five nights and using public showers it was a nice change of pace. The Tetons are incredible!! It's pretty damn tough to take a bad pic in that park!

An oddly specific sign

What do you know, the sign was right!!

It was a great trip with a few minor issues with the rig that we were able to handle. We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to do it again! There are a ton more pics found here: Yellowstone and Teton 2015 - mrtibbs2004

Thanks for looking!

*Title should read Yellowstone and Teton, not Yosemite. Yosemite trip was two years ago! Lol

Great pics, man! Nice trip in a great Cruiser!

Thanks for sharing your photography. It's a beautiful place.

Thanks for the comments guys! We had a great trip and yes, the weather was great! Camping in Stoffel was great, no issues at all. And, we averaged 25 mpg in the park and got an overall 22 mpg for the trip. That's damn good for a fully loaded 60 doing 80+ mph on the highway (not to mention the wind sucked in Idaho on the way home)! I seriously couldn't be happier with the rig. There is still a lot to do in it, but I'm pretty confident that it's got a solid foundation!

Excellent photography and beautiful Cruiser. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the pictures! We were there in May showing some friends around from CA. Spring and Fall are the best times to go. The changes taking place and colors are spectacular. Also, there are fewer of our species around.

@Mr Tibbs were there some places where you could go offroad and do some roof top tent camping? I'm not looking for serious off road trails but some "off the beaten path" camping locations?

We are planning a trip up there next year and I was wondering, I remember going when I was a kid but we didn't camp.

Sorry for the delay. We stayed in the park at the campgrounds. Camping in the park is pretty restrictive but convenient. There are not really any off the beaten paths inside the park, but there might be outside. Might be better to ask some of the locals up there for advice. Sorry!
