Hi Ken
You are certainly getting stuck into it.
Were is the rust?
Looks like you got a good buy there.
My project has come to a halt again. With China Calling.
All your photos are making me miss my project even more. I'm up to preparing the tub for priming.
Brought a rotisserie to put the tub on to. Cost me $800.00 and will sell when finished . I will post photos .
Keep your photos coming.
Cheers

Thanks Bambi I suppose that is the advantage of having 2 weeks off work so that you can put a good effort into her. As for the rust the only rust we have found so far is a small amount in the tub which I will get cut out just before we blast the tub. I have just sourced a EFS 2" suspension kit through a mate of mine in Ipswich and hopefully should be in Townsville in the next few days. Just got to work on how to get it from Townsville to Cooktown?? Once I get back to work things will slow down a bit as they are already. I need the suspension kit, tie rod ends, uni joints, brake parts so that I can have it back to a rolling chassis. I was hoping to have that done by the end of my holidays but I dont think it will happen.

Gearbox is painted and back together.

Did a compression test this morning and ended up with number 1 cylinder at 50psi, number 6 cylinder at 90psi and zero on the rest. Couldn't work out why so we pulled the tappet cover off and it looks like there are quite a few valves which are sticking and probably causing the problem. However after removing the tappet cover I think that this engine might have the original 16000 miles which shows on the odometer. You can still see the original green paint on the block under the tappet cover.

Hi Ken
Looks clean under the rocker cover.
Wonder what you will find in the sump Pan?
Cheers from China

Yes curious on what youll find in the pan if anything...
----------------
Bambi girl, you seem to travel the globe which is cool

What line of work you in?

We pulled off the sump today and it was fairly thick in the bottom however no metal filings. We did find half a dipstick there as well. Extractors and engine have been sand blasted and ready for painting now.

Hi Ken
Well that's makes the motor look different . Can't say I have ever seen a sand blasted motor.
Keep them photos coming .
Mr murf .
To answer your question my work.
Today I felt like a cleaner and a house keeper cleaning up other peoples mess and putting all the parts back on the shelf.
But in my spare time I run an engineering company.
Cheers

Forgot to put the pic of the Genie Extractors painted up in the last lot. Hope you get heaps done on your tub. I just got a call from a mate of mine and he has gotten everything I need to make it a rolling chassis again. EFS Suspension kit, VRS gasket kit, waterpump, universal joints, brake cylinders, brake shoes, tie rod end kit. Just got to get it from Ipswich to Cooktown now.

Hi Ken
Extractors look good.
For freight try Interparcel.com.au
You book and pay your end.
Mornings are cheaper than afternoons. Why ?
We at work find they give good rates.
Photo of my progress. Took all day to assemble.
Tomorrow will the tub fit?
Cheers

Looks great cant wait to see how well it works. I will give them a try next week.

Took the head off today to have a good look at the pistons and bore and there was very little carbon on the top of the pistons and the bore is in great condition with no marks. Will probably just run a hone through the bore and that should be about it. No movement in the pistons either.
