no, not at all. We simply cannot keep a motivated volunteer. Hassan's wife did it some time ago.

Personally, I hate that site and wish it would dissolve. It causes more damage than good now.

Got any ideas?? We'd love to hear them...

Since we have Mud now and most are on that, maybe we can find someone to redirect to the Mud site from the old site.

We've kept that Web site alive because we own the "Pacific Mountain Cruisers" name. As you know, I'm not a computer wizz but my understanding is that if we drop our web site it becomes open for anyone else to use our name on the web. So we've paid the small amount to maintain the site for that reason.
I'm for removing it so maybe one of our club members has the web smarts to look into it.
Thanks Tim

There are a couple of questions that need to be asked here. Probably answerable only by those that have worked on the page.

1)Where is the site physically hosted?
2)What kind of server software is it running on? (Apache, IIS, etc.)
3)Who has rights to change things? (Upload files)
4)Who is paying for the domain name? (I know the club is paying for it, but who is actually doing it?)

I'm a computer guy by trade, but I am no webmaster. Not my field.
Basic research tells me it shouldn't be hard to redirect the page, but where to redirect to? Here at our section of IH8MUD? I would think it wise to ask for permission before attempting to do that.

i have built and still maintain a few websites
see mine at http://www.strever.com
and will be happy to show the person in charge what to put on the web site for a redirect to where ever you wish
