Howdy Folks,

I have seen pics of (the elusive) 'FJ55 specific' AC parts here in classified before, and I'm hoping someone out there may have a complete set/all components/perhaps even updated/upgraded willing to sell? Does this really exist? Or is it actually unobtanium?!

Loooong shot i realize, but I'd rather go with stock'ish stuff instead of Vintage AC. Also, if y'all have another recommendation I'm not aware of (other than deal without as I have been... wife is pestering me about it), then please advise me. :)

Cheers, Carlos

I know you asked for later model AC, but I have the whole factory installed setup for a '73 I'm willing to part with. If you need anything specific you can't source anywhere else, pm me

the vintage air units made for 40's "CAN" be modified to fit the FJ55's. It is alot of work and you have to get creative for sure but I have installed the 40 vintage units into fj55's. That being said, I don't reccomend the vintage air units. To be honest the kits are crap and include cheap parts, not worth the money IMO, as they are NOT cheap.

I would look into some universal kits, most likely cheaper and will work better.

I can't find. Best I can do.

@Gumby

I have the RHD of the same you're looking for, only difference swing the dial is on the wrong side.

Plan to use it and evaporator, with a 3FE compressor, newer condenser (whatever will fit) and accumulator.

I do have a 55 AC unit for sale. Came off my 78. Was not hooked up after the PO swapped a csb. Includes the underdash evaporator, the AC specific heater core box, the gasket that connects the two and the switch box.

I do have someone who said he would buy it in August. I would want to check with him first.

Thanks Delancy

bparker- I appreciate the offer, but I prefer to find a later style or perhaps research more about aftermarket options. Thanks.

1973Guppie- Great advice, especially on using the Vintage unit in 55's. Exactly what I needed to hear. I appreciate your opinion and honesty. I'll research some other aftermarket options... Thanks.

Delancy- Nice work. Thanks! :)

Gumby- I understand. Please keep me informed. I am ready to buy. PM coming your way. :)

Thanks again everyone for the response! I love IH8MUD. :)
