belaboring a topic im sure is abused here greatly...but I'm beggin for insight.

Does a 2016 one owner 200 with 87k seem like excessive miles? mistreatment tendency? That's roughly 30k a year. All local records so im inclined to think its not a highway driver.

It has strong maintenance records and new brakes/tires that's about it. Still holding value at just under $50k wondering if I shouldn't just pony up the extra 5k for one with 1/3 less miles.

That's a significant number of miles for a 3 year old vehicle. But that doesn't mean abused. If it has service records and you are satisfied with the condition and price go for it. Under $50k seems reasonable given the miles.

I have seen a Land Cruiser locally being used as a limo. It may have been used in a similar capacity. I would be worried about potential high idle time. Who was the previous owner ?

CarFax and dealer don't say anything about previous owner. VIN scrub doesn't reveal anything either. What does the high idle time implicate potentially?

Lots of miles within short period of time probably equates to highway miles which may mean less stress on the truck than city stop and go traffic. I don't see the mileage as a sign of misuse.

With 87k on the clock somehow I don't think you need to be concerned with high idle time.

I don’t recall when the 2016s started hitting the market, but it should be considered that the vehicle could be closer to 4yrs old verse 3yrs old (unless you have a manufacture date). That would bring the total miles per year down to about 22k/yr.

Good point. The manufacture date on it says 6/26/2016; in dealer inventory and sold with 25 miles on it 8/15/2016 so its spot on 3 years old.

Pure speculation that it was driven by a realtor. It all depends on service records, condition and price.
It was pure speculation based on an educated guess that it is probably business related due to the mileage and being able to deduct the cost for tax purposes plus the fact that someone would need a nice vehicle to impress clients. Yes condition is more important than who drove it.

My wife’s job causes her to put about 80k Hwy miles a year on her car. The mileage negatively affects the vehicles value when we trade but the vehicle is always in great shape and looking like new. The buyer gets a great deal in these cases. High mileage in a short period wouldn’t bother me if the records are good and the vehicle looks cared for.

I'm guessing with the 2020 release the 2016's are going to drop retail price from trade-in inventory coming up.

If it is the white one in Austin at the Ford dealer it has an accident reported. For the mileage and accident I would pass and spend the extra $5k.

That’s the one 99. CarGurus shows it has an accident but CarFax doesn’t show it. I plugged VIN into VehicleHistory and NICB and no hits.

I’ve noticed CarGurus is showing accidents on vehicles but CarFax doesn’t. What’s going on?

Pony Up!

Here in Atlanta you see limos competing with taxis at the airport so they sit in a big parking lot waiting to get the the front of the line. It is easy to roll up the miles doing that. Another possibility is that it was used as an Uber black. I worked for a courier company years ago. Our local trucks averaged 10,000 miles a month. High idle time is increased engine wear. That is taxi cab level mileage

Did you check Autocheck? I read that CarGurus might use that service instead of CarFax. Supposed to be better at tracking auction cars.
