Found an '05 for $8600 with 160k miles. One owner and one small accident at like 6k miles, no airbag deployment and seemed minor - hit from the rear. Maintenance records show it was brought in every 5k miles or less to the Lexus dealership.

However, I'm not sure what to think of the rust. I'm not local so I had them take pictures for me. It looks like holes in the 2nd picture on the right and in the 5th picture. What could I do to stop the rust from getting too bad if it's not already?

I'm no expert but looks to be just surface rust. Sand it down and undercoat it?

Most all the shops over here in Japan do this.
Mine was done as well. Just bought it with 29k on it.

Looks like light surface rust. Mines worse. I'm going to wire it down and coat it with rust encapsulator this summer.

Agreed it doesn't look terrible, however be prepared to fight nuts and bolts when trying to remove them and expect some to snap. Apply plenty of Kroil to minimize this.

Factory skids are paper thin and hold all the things that they shouldn't. The other rust looks like normal NE wear to me. I wire brush my truck every spring and fall, use rust reformer or whatever treatment you prefer and then put a thorough coat of Fluid Film on the undercarriage at least twice a year to keep things at bay. The joys of living in the NE. IMO, Fluid Film is a great product and has worked well for me.
But none of the pics look too bad. Just need cleaned up and treated and you will be good.
