Well I decided that tomorrow I am going to skip school and work on the pig. Since owning it I have been plagued with exhaust fumes. And most recently with flooding the engine with gas.
So when we got home I decided that I would go ahead and pull the intake/exhaust systems. I also finished desmogging the 2F. As I worked my way thru the nuts, bolts, blood, and derma matter ( which the Pig gladly consumed from my person) I noticed things that were completely wrong. Let me begin saying there was ZERO exhaust gasket between the exhaust pipe and the lower exhaust manifold. Gee wounder why that leaked? Then as I started seperating the intake and exhaust manifold I reached back to take the nuts off the flex pipe for the EGR system and noticed there weren't any nuts. I finally seperate the exhaust manifold and pull it out... Phawkin-A its not even connected. Hey do you think there was an exhaust leak there too? Hmmm.. I wonder? And there appears to be a somewhat new intake/exhaust manifold gasket inplace.
So tomorrow I will be cleaning and installing the exhaust system with proper block off plates, and replacing all my vacuum lines with new as well as cleaning the carb (Okie rebuild).
I hope this finally takes care of the exhaust leaks and flooding issues. Oh and looks like I need to replace the gas cap with a proper one as well.
Anyone interested in smog parts?
