ha ha, yeah I should really clean up to get some room to work, usually I end up having more space on my floor and endup working like a pakistani (no I'm not racist, just pointing out that I seen them in their sandles hammering sheet metal strait on the dirt shop floor). That reminds me, I caught myself on fire again last night grinding those things down. Frick I got to stop doing that, guess I should invest in a good shop jacket.

Once upon a time I bought someone a leather welding jacket. It wasn't too $. Think I got it at Liquide.

Um... meant to say, Deny... "nice stumps."

yuo mean my redneck axle/frame/tub stands. Ask Jim how I had one leaning over with an axle stand on top, and tack welded to the tub holding up jig, so it wouldn't fall off.

For some reason that doesn't surprise me in the least.

Cleaning and clipping the damn springs took a lot longer than I thought, and I come outa the shop looking like a coal miner, but with a nice coat of paint, they should look real nice.

Let me know if you want any 'magic paint' to paint those suckers with. I painted my driveshafts this weekend. Pretty spiffy.

Does this magic paint, paint itself, does it make me sandwiches? If not I don't need it, I am happy with the paint I am using.:D Paint is paint, it's the prep that makes it or breaks it.

Paint only becomes magic when you huff it, right Charla?

yEs................

Did a little this weekend, too busy to post up or wrench on it this week, work has gone insane this week. the painting of springs I did this weekend:

Gonna top coat with something like this? SLIP Plate®

Deny...you almost work slower then me!

I was just gonna spray some graphite spray between the leaves? I don't know, last time I just greased a little between them, but that paint looks pretty sweet.

Oh I know I probably work slower than anybody! Cept my brother ;)

Pretty sweet flat deck though, eh? I think I'll just add a front loop outa 2X4 and it should be good to go!:hillbilly:

Nice, and you can upgrade to plywood when that pressboard swells in the rain :hillbilly:.

I do my springs like that too: wire brush, bevel the square leaves, paint, graphite spray. The graphite paint works well but won't last long. I also round the top edge off the ends of the leaf tips where they rub the spring above them. Dunno if it helps but the idea is to reduce friction/wear between the leaves. :meh:

Oh I am waiting until he can actually put his thumbs into the thumb pockets of those Mitts:hillbilly: before I start worrying about you getting any faster!

Deny you'll just have to get some helpers of your own.

(I hear they can be rented).
