GOT IT FIRED UP!!! Purred like a kitten again. I almost cried(mostly because I am a total rookie at this), and because this 75 degree weekend here made me miserable not to have my truck.
I did a spark test and got nothing, so I unhooked all the grounds and connections and cleaned them with a little emery cloth and reconnected it all. Then I poured some more gas down into the carb. I also had a battery charger on hand. I tried it a few times and apparently had put in a little too much gas so it was a little flooded. In the mean time i checke dthe distributor and points and it looked good. Pulled a plug which appears to be needing replacement but just cleaned it a little with some emery cloth and reinstalled. it was not wet or anything. Tried it again a few times and starter heated up a little too much. Waited about 10 mins after it cooled down. Tried it a couple more times and FINALLY!!! I heard it fire up.
