All that loose wiring would be hard to trace down without hovering over it. If you live in the DFW area, drop by and we'll look it over
Otherwise I'd say you need to pick up the Haynes and FSMs from Toyota. The wiring diagram in the Haynes manual is much easier to get through, but the FSM (field service manual) is more in-depth, but in mine, it's one basic diagram that breaks out into differnt models (Deisels, 70s, etc) and is a bit of a pain to get through. The Haynes breaks it down from 2F to 3FE (basically) models and is much easier to read.
You might also look into joining a local Cruiser club - there's a wealth of info out there and help, too!
Just because the connectors are different colors doesn't mean it's hooked up wrong (it could be) because something may have been replaced with an aftermarket part, etc. If you can take some photos and post them, that might help.
