Hi Guys
Rodents got to my wiring just inside engine compartment right side near cowl .
Damage is minor but the speedo not working now so wont pass smog . I tried to graft in some coax cable to no joy.
Any ideas? or looking for good auto electrician San Diego area.
Thanks

Have you checked the basics for an inop speedo? Sounds strange that mice would just single out your speedo circuit or do you have other issues?

I wish I could provide some help with this but…some friends of mine had mice chew the wiring in their new car. With 1700 miles they had to replace an $800 harness on top of the engine. They claim it’s the soy used in wire production. The remedy they have so far is peppermint oil. Seems to have worked for the last 7 months and using a solar charging strobe under the hood. Charges in the daytime, lasts about 10 days on a 1 day solar exposure and its magnetic so they stick it under the chassis.

Thanks for your reply yes speed sensor replaced however I need to pull out the combo meter so I can test the speedometer looks like the whole dash has to come out to get to it unless there is a short cut that I cant see.
Any help would be appreciated
