Im thinking of adding an aux switch panel for future exterior addons, but dislike the idea of running a wire through the oem firewall grommet. I'm not planning on running anything too crazy, fog lights, and some trail cameras.

Anyone have any history of qdr on this wireless (bluetooth/rf) unit that allows for 4/6 aux connections?

Garmin Powerswitch. Runs off your phone, CarPlay, or a Garmin device. The only downside is you don’t have physical switches.

I’m running it on my GX. Not only was it an incredibly easy install, it connects to my phone or Garmin device fast and is super responsive. I mention the responsiveness because I have a 20 inch light bar connected on mine that blows my high beams out of the water. Being able to quickly toggle the light bar off for an oncoming car gives me the comfort to run the light bar on the back country roads I live on.

Running a wire through the steering post grommet is pretty easy-peasy. Unless you're planning on fording a lot of deep water, there is no down sides.
I've had my like this for over 5 years.
Okay, I admit, we don't have a lot of deep water crossings in So. CA. but still no issues.
