So I just purchased a built SAS'd 96 Tacoma. I was out wheeling yesterday in the desert and it started raining, so I had the wipers on. Throughout the day they were off and on without issue, and today when I went to pull it out of the garage, they wouldn't shut off. A quick google search told me to look for chaffed wires near the washer pump, but this truck has no reservoir or pump. I pulled the cover off the motor, everything looks good. Any additional common spots to check to help make my life easier?

I'm guessing it is the connector to washer pump. It would have been below the stock air box, behind the passenger side headlight. Even if the reservoir was removed the wires are still there somewhere.

looks like a common problem: My Wipers are possessed!

I've removed the connector and wiring up until it goes under the ABS pump. Still has the issue.

Probably a bad stalk. I had this issue with my headlights wouldn't shut off in the rain, replaced with a new aftermarket one-fixed. Fairly common problem for worn stalks to act up during times when its moist outside.
Interesting. You're the first person to say the stalk actually fixed it. I should also add that I lose intermittent function, but still have the high setting. If I shut the key off and turn it back on, they may stop for 15-20 seconds but come back on. Now that it hasn't rained in a few days I should plug the motor back in and see what it does. I need to weld the intermediate shaft for a clunk anyways.

You get it fixed?
