Have you checked the power to the wiper?

It also helps a lot of you tell us your location. These grow on trees in oz but in North America ,not so.
The year of your vehicle is also important, the HZJ75 had 2 types of motors for the windscreen wiper,90-92 and 93-
Is it 12volt or 24volt??
So basically it seems it only crosses over to 7* series of the same year. It did not cross reference to any other models.

A bit of information regarding your locality and some vehicle details goes a long way and helps pinpoint the answer you want

ooops sorry -good point Rosco
yes i am in Sunny Western Australia, the car is a 11/96 HZJ75 troopie - i didnt realise they did a 24 volt..... i would have assumed 12v but will check to see if anything is written on the unit tonight
It works begrudging if dry -if the screen is wet its ok (not good just ok)

Hi there,

Yes the wiper motors do wear out to the point your wipers will only work when your screen is wet, I chased this problem for some time , lubricating the knuckles, changing blades, the motor was shot!

I reccomend you contact your local 4x4 wrecker, I paid $140 for a wiper motor from a 79 series. My wipers now work like new, nice and fast!

Best of luck!

Cheers

Thanks mate
the 79 series might not be compatible - getting to wreckers is not an easy task where i live (to check the motors side by side) does anyone know if they are interchangable?? (hzj75 to 79series)

Yes ,a 79 series or 78 should work. They share the same part number as the 93- 75 series.
Any landcruiser wrecker would have boxes of them out the back.
The wrecker would know for sure.

- i didnt realise they did a 24 volt..... i )

I had to check, but the European LHD HZJ75 were 24volt. I dont think Toyota make any 24 volt models any more though
