Getting ready for the winter and need new all-season wiper blades that can handle snow/ice/rain/sun. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks in advance!

Bosch Icons are highly regarded.

I ran the Icons for a while, but out here in the sun I can't get more than a year out of them. This year I decided to give the RainX Latitudes (I think that's what they are) a try. Similar design to the Icons.

After this year I may just go back to the cheep kind as I still have to replace them every year.

Usually I get about a year out of Bosch. On my truck I actually run oem wipers since the 80's windshield is curved so much that aftermarket blades don't lay right. Everything is Bosch and I have good luck with them. Just sayin.

I like the Icons i have on my 100. Had them for close to a year now and they are still fine. However, the weather in GA is quite different from what you guys out west experience.

I have had the RainX Latitudes for a little under 3 years. Some could say I have gone a little far. They still work great in the rain, did fine in the GA "snow" last year. I just wipe them down with a little lip balm and give them a thorough cleaning with some rubbing alcohol after each season and they are good to go.

Not sure what I will be replacing them with, I hear Bosch is coming out with a new wiper that will be silicone instead of rubber with a coating of silicone.

Thanks guys! I may try the new bosch silicone and see how they compare to my two year old oem blades that need to replacing.

+1 for the Icons.

I found this thread (sorry, a few months late to the party) as I was searching out if anyone else was bummed that a $70k truck does not have rain sensing wipers. Maybe that would have made it an $80k truck?

i run the bosch icons on my LC100 in Hanalei. Very, very wet in winter and sunny in summer. They last 2 years. Same icons on my LC200 in SW Colo.. Snowy and cold. Last about the same time frame. I do use the Rainex as my wiper fluid though. I don't know if there is any evidence of it extending the life of the wipers. When you consider the extra cost of the Rainex wipe fluid, it's no money saver, just what works well for me.

You get rain sensing wipers with the upgrade package. However, I don't like them. Sometimes they behave strangely.

Maybe its the design? We have them on my wife's MB wagon; they work very well.

Taking the truck up to Tahoe today; huge winter storm should make for some fun.

I tried again the LC's auto wipers over the past few weeks: totally useless in my case. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but the speed selector is not doing much. Sometimes it's wiping too fast when there's hardly any rain drops, and sometimes it's too slow when it's pouring. 95% of the time, it's behaving unexpectedly so I have to resort to using the "mist" function instead. My windshield is clean so I don't think that's the issue.

Does yours have the rain sensing feature?
