I'm chasing wiper blade (rubber only) refills 22" and 24" long to suit a 2003 cruiser, the type that have the metal rods down the side, with the type of rubber end pictured. The picture with 2 ends in it the same end just rotated for better view, and the one with 3, bottom 2 are same end as other photo and the top one is the opposite end of the rubber. Is this what you guys have on yours? If I can get confirmation I will PM Cdan and get some. From what I can see there is a number on the rubber..........WRC2/E on the 24" and 02....03...04, and on the 22" WRC2/ (E or F) and the numbers 99...00...01...02...03. The rear rubber I might as well chase too, it is 16" long and has bothe ends the same as the top of the photo with 3 baldes, it has RC56 on it and 02... 03... 04... they all have other numbers I can't read.......going blind!

The metal spines only come with a whole wiper frame. You buy the refill and reuse the spines and frame. Spines cannot be purchased seperately.

For my 1998 the two fronts were the same part # 85212-yzz07 ($6.41US from cdan) and same length. These were the whole frame as the dealer I bought from had thrown away the spines when they put new blades on.

The rear was just a refill #85214-10100 ($2.48US).

Those may not be OEM if they aren't a standard metric length.

Thanks NM,

Just chasing the rubber, can you confirm the length of your rear rubber and that each end of the rubber is the same,(unlike the front ones), and is it held in place by the end of the frame being bent over at each end? I have searched an EPC and found 85214-48010 and 85214-50100 common to a few vehicles, but because it is not Australian I cannot confirm the part numbers

Just curious: Why don't you just run the Silicone blades?

Actually, the spines CAN be purchased (RH Part# 85224-60110 x2 & LH Part# 85224-08020 x2 ) should cost you approx $ 13-15 for all 4.

Toyota and Lexus dealers for some reason dont mention this....

I have tried so many types of blades in this vehicle, and none fit correctly, I don't want to go and close up all the guides with pliers (shouldn't have to) and find the next set won't fit, the OEM ones lasted 2 years with lots of bugs and did a fine job and they fit the guides perfectly, I have had silicon before and I prefer the standard rubber ones. Some of the replacements were so tight they would not fit, the packet stated they were 8mm, but measured 8.5 mm, took them back and tried another pair, same brand, they were 8.9mm! If the wiper blade fits correctly in the groove, your wipers work better and are noiseless, mine clunk and bang and shudder etc etc, so I am tryong to go back to OEM.

Lengths are 50mm front and 40mm rear. The end of the frame bends over the end on the rear blade. I have to agree that OEM rubber is a good move.

I use Bosch blades. They work well. The only problem is, that driver's blade doesn't come with a spoiler like on the OEM. As I'm to lazy to put the spoiler from the OEM blade on it, the result is not so good when driving over 150 km/h.
Except that they are great (& quiet as they are a tight fit) - maybe not look so great, as these blades are not low profile like OEM. Btw: you will not find blades for a LC100 in a Bosch catalog (must be because of the missing spoiler) - just buy 50cm blades and they will fit. I bought a pair for arround $15 in Slovenia.

the OEM inserts are the best wipers you can buy, thats ALL I use in all my cruisers, Consumer Reports did a test...........said the same thing.

If u try the new silicone system from PIAA, u will be pleasantly surprised. They are amazing.

when I can get a pair of OEM inserts for $3......and they work PERFECT........I think I will stick to my current program. I dont know how you could improve a wiper insert?

nope. That is one area where there might be a better choice, but around here its not an issue

Does Toyota offer a winter wiper blade that has the wiper arm wrapped in rubber so it doesn't get jammed up with snow and ice?

The other advantage to Silblade for us non-flatlanders :D is silicone's ability to not degrade as quickly from UV exposure...generally I need to replace my OEM's 2x per year. I think I will also be trying the Silblades to see how they hold up...

I've been using Silblade's for about 4 years now on two different trucks and have never had any problems. They are a local company near Saratoga, NY (orig. home). The folks that started the company at one time worked for GE Silicon division. One of the reasons I purchased them was that they have a 5 year warranty, no questions asked. After I figured what it would cost for any of the decent wiper blades over 5 years these were a steal. I think I paid $15 each for the fronts on the LC and truck and $20 for the rear on the LC. I know the prices have gone up a few bucks in the past couple years. You can't go wrong if you buy a set.

Just order 3 of the longest size 24"?. The inserts can very easily be trimmed to the appropriate length after they have been installed into the wiper frame. This minimizes the chances of ending up with an insert that is the wrong size. It also lets you use a replacement insert anwhere you need it..
