I'm getting winter tires for the LX and, rather than changing them off the existing 20" OEM wheels I am thinking of buying some winter wheels from Tire Rack. Anyone have any experience with the Method Mesh 18" wheels? Have a picture of them on an LX ? Tire Rack's wheel illustrator doesn't work for the LX.

Are you set on purchasing from the tire rack? IME a narrower stock offset wheel with a slightly narrower tire will give you the best result. There's also a new generation of all weather tires recently on the market. I'll blab more if you are interested?

Blab on please
I'm interested

I'm definitely going to stick with the Blizzak DM V1 tires for winter. All weather tires just don't work for my application.

Regarding stock wheels, I've been looking for a set of used LC or tundra aluminum 18s since March with little luck. If I can't find what I need I will either buy the off brand new or just put with winter tires on my Lexus wheels.

I run the DM V1s on an extra set of Tundra 18 inch wheels with cloned sensors. They are wonderful. I've run three or four different vehicles with Blizzacks or Haks. I guess other manufacturers are catching up but dedicated snow/ice tires are in a different league. As you already know. I think there are many Tundra wheels out there for under a 100 per wheel. And many are take-offs and pristine. I run the 285/60s and just leave the stock spare in the back. Actually, I think Brian is correct and a narrower tire is optimal but the 285s are not too shabby.

Since your choice is made (I respect that), I won't clutter your thread up. I'll start another for the AW tires.

Tundra wheels always seem to be abundant on craigslist around here... what's your general location in Ohio?

I have tundras on my 2011, and they look great.

Sure...Give me just a minute...

Here they are. Sorry about the crappy pic quality, I took it with my phone.

I'll be putting some 295/65/R18s next week...hopefully. I have found a killer deal locally on a set. Basically 4 tires (Duratracs) with ~80% tread for less than $200
