Recently moved back to the Midwest with my southwestern 100 series. Any tips or recommendations/what not to do? I have no rust anywhere on the underside of mine and I'm just looking for anything that has worked as a rust prevention or recommendations of what not to do. In the past, I always just rinsed under carriage monthly, but we're talking vehicles that were not as clean so to speak.

Thanks

Per suggestions on here I am going to try fluid film for the first time.

Just ordered 2 cans on Amazon.

I am a fluid film fan. It is a lanolin based coating. It creates a covering that is fairly resistant to washing off but is not permanent.

I spray all my trucks in the fall and will be doing the spring as well.

I spray a nice heavy coat of it using a kit with a sprayer I attach to my compressor.

Non Toxic has a bit of a smell that some like and some don't.

I suggest the Fluid Film also. It gets messy after a while as it turns into a black oily like film from all of the black road dust but it protects better than anything I've seen. That makes kind of messy when you are working on anything under there but I feel the benefits outweigh the negatives. Mine has no new rust whatsoever since I started applying it about 4 years ago. It does smell when you first spray it on but it goes away completely after a week or so.

Thank you for the recommendations.

Try FF first on a small area that can be washed off if you can't tolerate the nasty stench. It never goes away.
Some people (like me) are allergic to it.

It does prevent rust. But man! I can't get near the stuff even 1 yr. later.

Beware.

I can handle parts of New Mexico, and I really think I would like Utah, but where we were at, although interesting, I didn't care too much for.

I lived in Farmington NM for a year, I didn't care for it much either. The years spent in Gunnison CO prior to NM, that was a different story.

Picked up a few cans of fluid film to try out. Again thank you for all the suggestions.

Fluid Film annually. Clean out the inside of the frame rails first, with a pipe cleaner hose on the pressure washer.
FF is best applied with proffessional equipment. Don't forget all the cavities.
