Anyone stupid enough? Maybe i shouldnt call it a camping trip. Maybe i should call it a trip where we make a massive bond five and drink whisky and try not to freeze. Anyone down?

I would love to do a winter campout.
But we are going into the COLD part of winter.
I don't think my mummy bag would quite do the trick, but whiskey helps keep ya warm.

or we could always pull the old let go snow wheeling and get in over our heads and get stuck and spend the night. Ive done cold nights before but it is a bit colder then would really want to mess with.

heating blanket and battery pack with my cozy down comforter has done me well in the camper

The Prospector and I try to get out winter camping a few times each year. Double sleeping pads and double sleeping bags usually does the trick. One year it was -13F. Makes 20F feel warm.

I've been looking at diesel heater setups lately. I like winter camping, good excuse to go to bed at 8pm for me.

Winter camping is great, unless it gets too cold overnight and the rig won't start the next morning. My brother and I did that once, got down to -20ºF and it took 8 hours the next morning to get running again.

There is no better way to spend a night out in the winter than in a snow cave, though. Warm, light and dead quiet inside.
