Hi - I am restoring my '78 FJ40 and am re-running the washer fluid line from the reservoir to the top of the windshield. I removed the rubber "plug" at the top of the inside windshield frame and found that there is a metal pipe that the washer fluid runs through (inside the windshield frame). I cannot find the other end of this pipe to connect the hose to???? Please post a clue where to look or a picture. Thanks in advance.

It appears the washer fluid pipe runs inside the windshield frame, but I can't find where it daylights.

If your vehicle is LHD, the pipe runs down the passenger side windshield frame. You need to fold the windshield forward to get at it. Don't forget to disconnect the interior light wire at the top of the driver's side windshield frame before you fold the windshield. The flexible tube for your windshield washer fluid runs across the top of your glovebox. It has little copper tubes for hose splices.

geneseemtn - What did you find with your winshield frame washer tube? I have the same problem you did, have good pressure/flow at the glovebox, but nothing on top of windshield. No leaks either. Let me know if you remember, I don't want to fold my windshield any more than I have to.

The tubes rust out or end up filled with crud. I have no idea how to ream them out. I have a piece of rubber hose fished along side the metal tube inside the window frame.
