Looking for some advice in removing the windows on a 1984 landcruiser wagon

This is from memory...for the front door...
Remove arm rest.
Remove door latch.
Remove door panel.
Remove two bolts on bottom of window run.
Lift up window and remove towards outside of door.

Rear door is similar, but there aren't two bolts on the bottom of the window run.

While we're on the subject of windows...

My Driver's side window-when lowered all the way-will move around inside the door.

When I replaced the whole regulator assembly, I noticed that down at the bottom(front of glass)where it goes into the channel, it seemed to be missing something causing it to be loose.

Any ideas?

I replaced the window run on both front windows on my 60, and both were missing some of the rubber. Replaced with OEM (two parts) and no rattle, goes up/down easily.

In your case, you are missing a piece of the window run.

Are you talking about the run on the front party of the window? That seems to be where mine is loose.

Do you happen to have the P/N?

Thanks

I used the rocks to remove mine :meh::hillbilly::steer:

Depends on whether you need to replace the windshield gasket (if cracked or won't "rebound" after poking it with a ball point pen, replace).

If you want to save the gasket, remove the lock strip CAREFULLY: it breaks easily. Then use thin plastic pry tools to separate the gasket from the body, inside & out. Then pry the gasket up inside starting at a corner & work both ways, pushing out until the whole thing, glass & gasket starts to move.

Here's where you might break the windshield. The rear corner window is tempered glass & almost impossible to break this way. The more gasket you can free up the less you have to flex the glass.

If you're replacing the windshield gasket, simply use a utility knife to cut immediately next to the perimeter of the glass on the outside. Then cut under the flap of the gasket you just cut, & run a plastic pry under the glass on the inside, & the windshield should push out, again starting at a corner. If you have "star" rock chips or cracks in the windshield it will break easily, & probably should be replaced.

BTW Put your location in your sig line! There might be local folks who could help.
