I have rather serious wind noise inside my 2011 200 Series when I get above about 70 mph. I've tried multiple times to locate it, but I can't figure it out. It sounds like a plastic bag stuck rattling in a strong wind. It appears to come from near the top of the A pillars on both sides, and my rear seat passengers also appear to hear it from just above their heads...along the outside edge of the roof. Perhaps my search skills are lacking, but I don't see anything on Mud about this. Is anyone else having this problem? Any ideas what it might be? The truck is bone stock except for fender flairs, which I thought might be it. But, I kicked it up to 85 mph the other day (which was actually the speed limit outside Austin), and the noise is definitely from the roof area. Thanks in advance for your advice!

There is a plastic trim piece that runs between the A pillar and the windshield. They typically come loose at the top, especially if aftermarket wiring has been installed, or windshield replaced. stand on the doorsill and push down on the top edge, if it moves at all, that is your culprit.
put a decent dollop of silicon under the trim piece at the top and let it dry. should hold everything in place.
also check the rubber rain gutter trim pieces that run the length of the top under the roof rack. one of them may have shifted. there is a series of rubber pieces held tight with a plastic part.

I'll do that. Thanks!

The crossbars on the LC and particularly the LX are also prone to rattle.

That's interesting as well. I haven't checked to make sure they're tight. Will do so tonight. Thanks!

Rubber between glass and side pillars? My 100 did that. Just needed to be re-applied.

The rubber that fits right against the glass (windshield) seems a bit loose/flappy for some reason. At 85 mph, I rolled down the window to feel that piece, and it didn't seem to be moving. Then again, it was pretty hard to tell at that speed!

-Are you sure you weren't blocking enough of the wind with your hand to keep it from flapping when you were checking? :)

Maybe so! Next time I'll strap one of the kids to the center of the hood and have him reach over with a scrawny arm to check...

Also check to see if they are installed the right way and not backwards. My last 4 runner had the front one backwards when I took delivery on it and it was loud.
