Who's got the good deals on a winch recovery kit? One of those with the canvas bag, snatch block, tree saver, etc....

Do any Mud vendors sell stuff like that? Found a few with google, but I figured I'd check with the Mud brain trust.

My friend Dave Connors won an ARB recovery bag with gear at Cruise Moab this year and it's awesome. Very well made bag and the usual high quality gear inside (gotta love a snatch block with a zerk). Retail on it's pretty steep. Warn makes one similar. Contact Kurt Williams at Cruiser Outfitters, he can get either for you.

Thanks. Yeah, Kurt's site was the first one I looked at. The ARB stuff is pretty spendy but that snatch block sure looks nice. Maybe I'll get that and piece together the other stuff.
I didn't see the Warn stuff there. I guess I'll give him a call and see.

I've got a Black Rat recovery kit. I bought it on Ebay, along with their 3500# hand winch. I used it to turn my 100 series around on an iced over forest road in the middle of nowhere- winched it backwards up the hill to turn it around. If you can find one of their kits, it makes a great trail accessory.

be sure to read the australian test on recovery straps where you'll see that some of the big names failed pretty dismally to even meet their own ratings....

Figured I'd update this. This was for a Christmas present and he sometimes reads here so I didn't want to give too much away. :D

I ended up getting one of the T-max kits from Rocky Road. It's a pretty nice setup and it's only $89.
