8274 would not fit most front bumpers on the 80. The only bumper I know of that would fit the 8274 is the ARB commercial bar, which is not listed in their US catalog.

And thankfully, they are not the only Land Cruiser in existence. Cam owns a 40 series, and this is why I posted up. I know at least a half-dozen people that have purchased a cheap winch, to only remove it in a year or two and replace it with a Warn 8274. I fail to see the merit in pissing money away like that.

A cheap winch is better than no winch.

Perhaps to you.

I would not run one before I put that on my junk, and would accept the limitations of my vehicle and not get myself into a situation where I am a burden to others in the group that I am with.

Having spent 100’s of hours recovering stuck/broken/rolled/etc vehicles both without and with garbage winches that do not work worth a s*** with my 8274, that winch has more than proven it’s worth to me, time and time again.

Well If you don't want to wait and buy an 8274 as Poser suggested, then I'd still at least buy a Warn winch, just a less expensive model. I had an MX8000 (the predecessor to the M8000) on my 40 for twelve years and used it dozens of times without a problem. As Toyo40 mentioned, you can get an M8000 at Winchdepot.com for a good price. Some specs for the 8274 (first) and M8000 (second) show that the line pull under 4000lb loads or greater are comparable:
